I tried to warn everyone they were going to do this. I put my entire career on the line to come out and say publicly: @Facebook doesn't care. Maybe people working there care, but the shots-callers, they could not care less. It was obvious. That's why I refused any money from them

This is what led up to the Capitol tantrum as well. The dates kept getting moved and as they did, the weaponized rhetoric got cranked up more and more until discussions in groups weren't about whether to kill "pedos" or "antifa" but how to do it best.
That was bolstered by real-life events that got more and more violent and threatening.

It's happening now, too.
