Yogi Adityanath said that there has been no "danga" in UP since he took over.

Here is how @newslaundry used a nonsensical interpretation by a "fact checker" to say that Yogi is wrong and there were thousands of riots in UP.

1/n
Issue is what we mean by "riot"

Under IPC, any kind of violence in any andolan or morcha etc is called "rioting"

In fact, ~75% of all crimes against public order in India are classified as "rioting"

But common people understand "danga" to mean communal riots

2/n
Now see this screenshot from Newslaundry that shows 5714 "riots" in UP in 2017.

They say it comes from NCRB.

But that's the total number of cases of "rioting"

How many of these were communal/sectarian riots?

This is what common folks understand by "danga"

3/n Image
Now see the real NCRB table from 2019.

There are 5714 cases of "rioting" from UP, but you can clearly see that ZERO of these cases are communal/sectarian.

Yogi's claim is 100% correct in the sense most common people would understand it.

Central banks pumping up the money supply to make up for loss of output due to the pandemic.

Real cost of the pandemic could become visible in a 1930s style Great Depression that starts about 5-6 years from now.
The story begins with the 1907 panic in US stock markets.

By this time, the US had gotten sick of recessions and panic every few years.

So the US in 1913 creates the Federal Reserve Bank, the lender of last resort.
Soon after, WW1 begins in 1914.

The British and the French borrow heavily from the US for the war.

This is the beginning of the military industrial complex, with the US lending money to countries who would use it to buy weapons from the US.

2 stunning changes AAP made to its constitution in January

1. Removed term limits to make Kejriwal party boss indefinitely

2. Removed ban on family members contesting (road clear for Kejri's son/daughter)

BJP still has term limits and is not family firm

AAP changed in 9 yrs
The reason I mention AAP is because it's based in Delhi.

We all still remember how AAP started, it's early idealism and rhetoric.

It took just 9 years for AAP to become a copy of Lalu's RJD.

This is how most parties in India work ... BJP is a huge exception.
This is not to say BJP is wonderful.

This is to show just how dirty politics is.

See how quickly AAP became RJD.

The fact that BJP is still not RJD is exceptional.

Delhi Sultanate/Mughal rule was actually worst time for India.

Does anyone know of a big scientific advance from India during that time?

When this period began, India was at same point as Europe.

When it ended, India was hundreds of years behind.
Due to their fanaticism, Mughals destroyed religious centers of knowledge all across India.

All across Europe, religious centers gradually evolved into the world's greatest universities.
Mughals lacked all vision. They never even understood the importance of a navy.

Unlike the Cholas for instance.

India was rich during Mughal time, but as technologically backward, with no navy, it was only a matter of time before European navies arrived and snatched the wealth

People don't realize how differently the pandemic would have been covered if a liberal was PM right now.

In New York, 6000 Covid deaths were covered up in nursing homes.

Liberal NY governor got so much praise that news anchors said they are feeling sexually attracted to him.
Now imagine: if media can hide thousands of bodies in a place like New York, do you see how easily they would have covered up things in India?

The liberal governor got so much positive coverage he made millions selling his book on how to fight the pandemic!
In India as well, have you seen a single story of mismanagement from liberal ruled Maharashtra?

Four deadly hospital fires in about a month, but according to media, every single thing is working perfectly.

In this entire second wave, the only party other than BJP that got any criticism was AAP.

You know why?

Because AAP made some deft soft Hindutva moves.

Ecosystem took away their protective umbrella.

Sena, Cong, TMC, CPM, etc have not got even 1 line of criticism.
Now you can say Kejriwal was "opportunistic" in his soft Hindutva, but in politics, 99% is opportunism.

Ecosystem can forgive everything, but they cannot forgive even a slight pro-Hindu tilt.
This is the reason India has 100s of "secular" parties but just one Hindutva party.

Being in secular camp is shield that protects against all criticism.

Nobody dares leave the shield.

Kejriwal is a risk taker. He thought why not try copying BJP a little? He is paying a price.

"Mahapanchayats giving timely impetus to farmers’ protest"

Ecosystem was gleefully sharing pictures of crowded mahapanchayats held all across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and UP.
