Q:- Does the term Varnasankar only means "the result of Intercaste marriage?
A:- The term mainly means such. The other meanings denotes the son born out of "सगोत्र विवाह, व्याभिचार" as varnasankar.
The broken यज्ञोपवीत tradition also result into Varnasankarta.

A:- Manusmriti 10.24 describes the same thing. But they are the वर्णसंकरता by प्रकारांतर the main वर्णसंकरता lies in result of Intercaste marriage.

Other acharyas have written only संकर or have talked about the leaving of jati dharma or adultery

This leaving of Jati dharma and Adultery covers the #विवाह in other varna too. Some acharyas have written that indulging in relationship with same husband (because he has killed his relatives) will make one वर्णसंकर.
All these secondary संकरता's (of leaving Yajnopavita and swakarma) have prayschitas which nullifies the doshas.
But once you indulge in ICM then the way is not easy for the child. He is a संकर.

Conclusion:- These shlokas talks about all short of Sankarta. The वर्णसंकरता by #intercaste and the सांकर्य generated by leaving स्वकर्म.
