Dear Scholarship Applicants,

Are you targeting Fall 2022 admissions in USA 🇺🇸, Canada 🇨🇦, Europe and other regions?

Get in here please.

You must have realized that the Fall semester is the biggest admission pool and official start of most academic calendar globally thus more
admissions and scholarships are available.

If you’re targeting Fall 2022 admission, you should have all or 80% of these credentials ready:

Transcripts
International passport
Well structured academic CV
Referees.
Statement of Purpose/ Research statement/Motivation and Cover letters.
Awards, Publications, Leadership portfolio, Membership of Professional bodies, Related work experience.
Professional and Online presence (LinkedIn, Researchgate, Google scholar e.t.c)
Standardized test scores like GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, GMAT e.t.c. While some schools are silent about these test, some actually use it to sort applicants’ strength. (I’ll strongly recommend taking these test especially applicants with low CGPA)
Once you have all these checked , do the following ( In no particular order):

Search for schools and programs ( States, acceptance rate, international students ratio, rankings are key factors)

Do not wait until scholarship positions are publicly advertised.
Most MSc and PhD program in USA and Canada are fully/partially funded once your credentials are solidly packaged. Check admission and scholarships requirements. Send COLD EMAILS to Professors with details of what you can offer (This is a quick hack).
Most application windows will be up by August, send in your applications early to increase your chances especially for programs with limited resources. There are many applicants, get to the table early. This is the best way to apply for application fee waiver.
Apply to many Schools. 5, 10, 20 as much as your thirst can take. Spread your risk - Apply to top , middle and lower ranked Universities (Some lower ranked schools have excellent research outputs)

Package your applications and make each application distinct with a touch of gold.
Talk to friends, let them review your credentials and give you honest feedbacks.

Follow up: Send emails to program coordinators and contact persons if you’re in doubt. Don’t assume, just ask.

Mentality is key : Focus, Confidence, Faith, Prayer, Stamina and Passion.
Seek leverage: Initiate contact with current graduate students wherever you’re applying to, let them give you quick hacks and directions.

Dear Scholarship Applicants,

You must have realized that the scholarship journey is a demanding one. Scholarships are reserved for selected few who have met the requirements. Here are some tips that can help you keep your spirit up and active irrespective of the hurdles.
1. Positive mindset: The assurance and believe that you deserve (worthy) the scholarship will propel you. Keep a positive spirit, renew the drive , embrace changes and be prepared to give it your best.
2. Credentials: Ensure that you have all your credentials (certificates, test results, transcripts, CV, publications, awards e.t.c) ready. It can be frustrating running the race without all your credentials in place. It will kill the drive and ruin the journey.

Dear Scholarship Applicants,

Interested in USA 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 ???
Read this and share!!

Do you want to apply to Universities in the United States 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 against Fall 2022.

I want you to give yourself enough time for adequate preparation and packaging (6-18 months)
I am referring to those that have not started or are in the process gathering information.

Pre-application:
This is the most important stage of your application, the outcome of your scholarship pursuit rests majorly on this phase.
What should I do?

Make a list of at least 50 Schools offering your desired program(s). Select the schools across board from low to high ranked Schools. (Google strategically)

Look out for Professors that you can work with and make a map.

Today’s Scholarship Summary!!!!!

Dear Scholarship Applicants,

Do something different

Do not use on statement of purpose for applications ( Don’t use one stone to kill 50 birds). Statements are program-specific, be wise.
Read the application instructions, FAQ and be sure you know what to do.

Make sure you meet at least 70% of the admission/scholarship requirements ( Be strategic). Reviewers will check the total application package.
You don’t have to apply for all openings. Know your strength and act accordingly. Scholarships are awarded to the best candidate(s)

Don’t rush to sit for GRE, IELTS, SAT, GMAT, TOEFL and so on without adequate preparation ( Don’t waste your precious money and kill your vibe)

Dear Scholarship Applicants,

I strongly advise you not to lie in your application.

Alternatively, I’ll advise you to package your CV and make it stand out.

Leadership and volunteering roles are good selling points, let me show you some tricks:
