Hi! I’m @alexbward, anchor of “National Security Daily,” POLITICO’s new daily newsletter taking you inside the national security machine of Washington and beyond.
This is a big day for us here and I wanted to give you a sneak peak on what we’re up to. 🧵 politi.co/3iuFs0M
NatSec Daily is an evolution of our Morning Defense newsletter. We’ll take you from the Pentagon’s E-Ring to the halls of the State Department to the West Wing and even to some foreign capitals.
National security is a team sport, and we’re gonna track all the players.
Every weekday by 4:00 pm, you can expect a newsy, high-impact, and insider newsletter giving you the who's up, who's down, and what the heck is going on around the world.
We want not only to report on the national security community, but build NatSec Daily around it.
"Okay," you say, "I get tons of newsletters, and many of them on NatSec stuff."
"True," I respond, "but the difference is this will be a daily reported product, with scoops and quotes and insider info you won't find anywhere else."
And we'll be covering the issues you most care about:
- How's the Afghanistan withdrawal going?
- Is America's reentry into the Iran nuclear deal happening?
- Am I going to get hit with ransomware?
- Umm, China has a new aircraft carrier.
We'll hit all that and more.
So please join us by subscribing and get the POLITICO coverage you love with the quirkiness you didn't know you craved.

• MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, who made overturning the election a personal crusade and is being sued for defamation
Math teacher Douglas Frank gave an unusual PowerPoint presentation at Trump's rally yesterday, with charts and numbers meant to convince people he has data to prove the false claims of widespread election fraud.
Hi! I’m @KatelynFossett, author of Women Rule, our weekly newsletter on women and politics, policy, business and media.
We just relaunched the newsletter today and I wanted to tell all of you what we’re hoping to accomplish 🧵 politi.co/35VLUbr
@KatelynFossett We started the Women Rule newsletter in 2019 knowing we wanted to build a community for women in Washington and across the world. We wanted to cover how women were shaping the world and how the news was affecting them.
Over the years we’ve been wanting to pull back and recommit ourselves to a high-impact, newsy, original product that you, our readers, consider essential and of-the-moment.
We also want to use it as an opportunity to build our relationship with readers. politi.co/35VLUbr
Biden, Schumer and Pelosi unveiled a new strategy yesterday for getting the president’s agenda passed.
Basically, If Biden’s proposal for “family infrastructure” and climate change doesn’t pass, then neither will the bipartisan infrastructure deal. politico.com/newsletters/pl…
But getting all Dems to agree on a budget resolution in July is going to be difficult for Schumer and Pelosi. They have little wiggle room due to their slim majorities, and their conferences are divided over how big this Democrats-only bill should be. politico.com/newsletters/pl…
Notably, there were only five Republicans at the White House on Thursday. This infrastructure deal is dead without at least five more. politico.com/newsletters/pl…
