How To Use Affiliate Marketing To Sell Your Product And Service Without Being An 'Affiliate Marketer'
[A THREAD] 😁
First of all, affiliate marketing is simply selling a product that isn't yours for a commission. It could be 20%, 35%, 50% and sometimes as crazy as 75%.
And yes, you can use the affiliate marketing model to sell your own product.
Let's find out how!
At this point, I want to believe that you already have a product that you are selling or are coming up with; physical or digital, it works the same way
Here's the not so secret secret: SELL WHAT THE MARKET WANTS
And if I'm to steal from @akinalabi's Small Business Big Money
"Sell What People Want To Buy Not Necessarily
What They Need To Buy"
Once you figure out what they want and have the product,
1. Create a buzz about it: Promote it relentlessly and shamelessly across every media you can think of. You have what people want, let them know
2. Offer a pre-sale, pre-order, free trial: This is optional but the aim of this could be to generate your first batch of testimonials. Never ignore testimonials. They make up for majority of your sales
The best people to offer this to are people that have bought from you before
These people could make up your first affiliates.
3. Launch the product and create an affiliate program: Let people know that they can get paid just for having people buy your product.
If it is a digital product, you can launch it on sites that offer affiliate program.
They could easily generate personal links and use it to sell. However, you could do it manually!
Get them to promote the products, have people buy it and indicate who referred them.
You could make it easier for them, get a good Copywriter to write a great sales letter,
Insert the testimonials and have your affiliates use it to promote the product.
Why is this important!
1. People believe what others say about you than what you say about yourself. If someone promotes your product, with testimonials it ckears doubts
2. People are selfish: Telling your friend to post on their social media won't help you sell. You have to give them a reason to.
3. You make more sales: Believe it or not, there are prospects you may not be able to access personally, this model offers a wider pool of prospects
4. Great Return on Investment: You could run an ad that doesn't convert but with this model, you don't get to pay if they don't make a sale.
It's a win win situation for you and your affiliate 😁
There you have it, a wide distribution channel
PS: Everybody who buys from you is a prospective affiliate. Once someone buys, always ask them for a referral and let them no they can earn from selling your product.
PPS: Affiliate Marketing is not a substitute for a bad product.
