โ€ข EC10

@DCX_EC10 is a prime example, losing 52% of its value since May 7th.

Was:R131
Now:R63

You May still be up, yes. But is the fall finished? Probably not.

Iโ€™d never try catch a falling knife. Buy winners in an uptrend and donโ€™t dollar cost average into losers. Image
โ€ข Tips

- The trend is your friend, the trend is down and not up.

- Dollar cost average in, in uptrends.

- Donโ€™t add to losers- youโ€™ll get burnt

- Protect gains in volatile assets

- Cut losses early
(A 50% loss now needs a 100% gain)
โ€ข Constituents

Top 10 holdings of @DCX_EC10 by weighting

You could construct your own portfolio by owning the crypto directly, and no need to pay a fee on that.

If you have 10k to invest, break it up like the professionals. Same applies to ETFโ€™s.

*** What are Reserves ***

Think of Foreign Exchange Reserves as a country's emergency savings account, which is usually held in foreign currencies

Look at S.Aโ€™s below:

๐ŸŸกGold = $13.1 billion ( R243b )
๐Ÿ”ตForeign/C = $47.9b ( R889b )

That alone is R1.1 trillion in reserves Image
1/ Whatโ€™s the Purpose?

The central bank ( South African Reserve Bank (SARB) ) uses it to:

๐ŸŸ keep the economy stable
๐ŸŸ support the national currency

๐ŸŸ Settle imbalances in
international payments
(export & import)

๐ŸŸ Protect the country in the event of external shocks. Image

A bond is a debt security. You can think of it as an I-O-U.

You lend money to someone, and then they promise to pay that money back to you + interest.

1/ Introduction

When it comes to bonds there are two markets one can opt to participate in:

๐ŸŸ  The Primary Market
๐ŸŸ  The Secondary Market

The primary market is where you ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐˜† ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—น๐˜† ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ด๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ but then cannot sell it to someone else because there is no secondary market for it.

*So the price of the bond cannot fall.

๐—ข๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜,

Tradable government bonds have a secondary market where they can be traded or held to maturity.

This means you can sell it when you want to, but it also means you can potentially lose money if the bond price has fallen lower than your original purchase price.

With tradable government bonds, you are
