“One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late.” al.com/news/2021/07/i…
The quotes in this piece are just brutal:
“And even though I may walk into the room thinking, ‘Okay, this is your fault, you did this to yourself,’ when I leave the room, I just see a person that’s really suffering, and that is so regretful for the choice that they made.”

I was just listening on CNN to the audio from Trump's interview with Phil Rucker and Carol Leonnig and I appreciate @brianstelter (obliquely) pointing out what so few reporters have been willing to say ... that Donald Trump suffers from a profound mental illness.
One of the reasons why journalists and ordinary Americans struggle so much with describing Trump is because we frame his actions as somehow being rational or normal. They're not. He's profoundly ill.
For anyone who has dealt with a profoundly narcissistic person it 100 percent screws with your head. You can't understand their actions because you view it through the prism of normal or rational behavior. But their actions aren't normal or rational
When I read stuff like this I think maybe it’s time to join the Republican Party, run for Congress and start making outrageous claims ... like I invented the question mark
“I believe underwear should be worn on the outside of pants” - Vote Cohen 2022!
This is unbelievable ... the NYT says that until recently anti-Semitic incidents in the US were tied to Trump. This is simply wrong. Just two years ago in NYC, Orthodox Jews were regularly being attacked in Brooklyn ... the perpetrators were usually Black men
The Monsey Hanukkah stabbing & the Jersey City massacre at a Kosher deli - also perpetrated by Black men. Yet the Times once again perpetuates the false narrative that anti-Semitic violence in America is a right-wing phenomenon
This from the same newspaper in 2018 that today is saying anti-Semitic violence is a right-wing phenomenon
Annals of military futility: "Over eight days, Hamas has fired nearly as many rockets — 3,350 so far — as it did over all of the 50-day conflict between Israel and Hamas in 2014" nytimes.com/2021/05/17/wor…
Hamas has spent 8 years spending money on developing rockets-money that could have been used to help the people of Gaza. And has watched 90% of those rockets knocked out of the air. Meanwhile Israel is destroying their tunnel network and wreaking military havoc on the Gaza Strip
It's hard to think of a more pointless military endeavor and one that has done more damage to the Palestinian people.
Opening a movie with a clip from Double Indemnity doesn't leave much doubt about the kind of story you're preparing to tell!
Just from watching the opening of this movie and the brilliant opening visual of the camera pulling back from the TV I know this is going to be good. De Palma is a master
I have something I need to get off my chest that might upset a few people on this list ... the other day I rewatched Hoosiers, a movie I loved as a kid.
And it’s a terrible film
Like it’s not just bad. It’s genuinely awful. It’s based on a true story ... and it’s not remotely accurate.
The soundtrack is a crime against nature.
Barbara Hershey’s character is badly written and her performance is dreadful
Gene Hackman’s coach is not a rough around the edges, tough coach with a heart of gold ... he’s a dick. And it’s hard to tell what he actually teaches the players about basketball.
