The images truly feel like out of a dream. Like they were able to reach into deepest recesses of my mind and capture it on film. But the greatest aspect is how much of what I saw truly *shocked* me.
What you all have seen/heard so far is not even a sliver of its full potential.
I have lauded the entire cast and crew from the beginning of pre-production. I’ve been championing the entire project - as a fan and as writer - and tonight felt like a level of vindication that I didn’t even know was possible. I can’t wait for you all to truly bear witness.
The level of craft here is something you simply have not seen anywhere else in recent years, and the LORD OF THE RINGS comparisons have been tired, but they are accurate without a doubt. Every single design element is unique and ornate and a true feast for you eyes and ears.
The other thing that I could not shake was the incredible diversity and overall enthusiasm of my audience. Without exaggeration, this was the biggest, most diverse group of folks I’ve seen in a movie theater since before the pandemic. And DUNE had them all under a spell.
From getting to sit in a packed auditorium that was in full applause at the end, to what I saw and heard on screen for over 30 minutes, I have quite literally never been more optimistic about the quality and chances of success (critically and financially) of DUNE. Stay tuned. 🧡
