Deeply irritating when someone gives away the book's ending. 200 pages in, 450 pages to go, and one of the major plot questions has been blurted out. Almost as bad as that time Dad slagged off the big twist at the end of Murder on the Orient Express on grounds of implausibility
"Don't worry darling, it's impossible to guess who did it and it doesn't really make sense anyway" YES BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT DAD
Oh ffs I can’t even look at you right now
Business idea: InjuryLawyers4U, but going after people who reveal book endings instead of accidents at work

Best mate, scenic walk, couple of tinnies, giant severed head. The perfect afternoon
Matthew 2:11: "On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him... They presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh. Then they took another look at the baby and ran away screaming"

If venues wish to impose them that’s their right, in my view, but I think Matthew Parris misses some important points here

He assumes they *are* needed, but why, when vaccine take up has been extraordinarily high and we were told that alone was the route out of lockdown?
I’ll be getting my jab when offered, because it’ll bring us nearer herd immunity, not because I am esp concerned about my own risks from covid. Uncomfortable with the idea of doing it so we can exclude the very small number who, for whatever reason, don’t wish to be vaccinated
There also might well be an element of semi-coercion in practice e.g. if only venues that impose them are allowed to relax social distancing requirements

So ignorant on racing but it’s not the same to watch without a bit of skin in the game. Who should I bet on?
Went for Potters Corner for Rowling reasons, Taking Risks because I shouldn’t be betting on stuff I don’t understand and Jett for a mixture of Gladiators and Alan Partridge #hoofundsyou
Oh my god Jett come on do it for me and for Alan Partridge!!!

The @Telegraph paywall is down today, and I wanted to reshare a few of my favourite pieces from the last year.

On Meghan, Harry and the echoes of Jackie Kennedy's Camelot myth in THAT interview telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/03/1…
