🐐 THE TOP 10 GREATEST MOMENTS IN FPL HISTORY 🐐

A thread on the top 10 #FPL moments in the history of the game. This list includes individuals performances, GWs and seasons that live long in the memory of FPL managers, Please RT, like & share if you found this thread enjoyable.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Before we start the list proper, some Honourable Mentions that didn’t quite make the list:
🐐 Sergio Aguero 5 goals vs Newcastle (15/16)
🐐 The birth of RAM - Robertson, Alonso, Mendy (18/19)
🐐 Mane goes off injured vs West Ham for a mass TC fail (19/20)
10. Your Own Walt (1/2)

Taking you all the way back to the 2012/13 season for this one, when Man United won their final title under Sir Alex Ferguson. Chelsea travelled to Stoke, who were unbeaten in 17 home games.
10. Your Own Walt (2/2)

As a result, some had the Potter’s penalty taker Jon Walters In their squads. Spectacularly, Walters headed two crosses into his own net before smashing a penalty against the bar, netting -4 for the gameweek.
9. HaulFest 2017

DGW37 in the 2016/17 season was a huge one for most FPL players, with some of the best players of that season hauling across their two games. Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez were vying for the golden boot and both produced huge hauls of 31 and 27 respectively.
8. The Leicester Semesters (1/2)

The season that Leicester won the league is looked back on fondly by almost every premier league fan. For FPL, this fondness extends even further for the incredible cut price options they provided.
8. The Leicester Semesters (2/2)

Ryiad Mahrez started the season at £5.5m and finished as the games top points scorer, but the undoubted highlight of the season was Jamie Vardy’s 11 game scoring run. His XG defying 13 goals in 11 games caught a lot of good managers out.
7. Salah Swats The Hornets (1/2)
The 2017/18 season saw the current FPL darling Mo Salah join Liverpool for approximately £30M. As the season progressed, auto-captain Salah became the go-to strategy for more and more managers.
7. Salah Swats The Hornets (2/2)

This culminated in GW30, when FA Cup ties led to Salah being heavily captained in a four fixture blank gameweek. As he had all season, Salah duly delivered with an single gameweek record 29-point haul as Liverpool blitzed Watford 5-0.
6. Pleased to Michu (1/2)
Many fans refer to Michu as the most memorable bargain pick in FPL history. Starting the season as a relatively unknown £6.5M midfielder, a hat trick in GW1 led to an extraordinary price rise to £7.4M by GW4.
6. Pleased to Michu (1/2)

Michu’s 18 goals and 3 assists meant his price rose as high as £8.5M throughout the season. 13 of his goals coming before the second wildcard was released meant that managers were able to enjoy a stellar first half of the season from the Spaniard.
5. Arise Lord Lundstram (1/3)

When the prices were released at the start of the 2018/19 season, few were surprised to see defender John Lundstram given a price of £4.0M. After all, he had barely played in the championship the season before.
5. Arise Lord Lundstram (2/3)

However, not long after, reports began to emerge that not only was Lundstram starting in pre season friendlies, but he was starting in an attacking midfield position. Many managers were happy to include such a player for their third bench spot.
5. Arise Lord Lundstram (3/3)

What managers didn’t expect was for Lord Lundstram to become Sheff Utd’s best attacking player, recording 4 goals and 4 clean sheets in his first 11 GWs. The peak of Lundstramania was a 21 point haul against Burnley.
4. Man Utd Triple GW (1/2)

Towards the end of the 2020/21 season, the PL fixtures began to pile up for Man United. Their long runs in the FA Cup and Europa league gave the premier league no choice but to schedule United to play 3 matches in one calendar week.
4. Man Utd Triple GW (2/2)

This gave #FPL managers their second ever TGW! Fans took hits en masse to bring in Man United players, with the midfielders and forwards proving to be the better picks over defenders. Bruno and Greenwood particularly impressed with 18 point hauls.
3. COVID & Gameweeks + (1/3)

Probably the biggest moment for the techies behind the FPL game occurred in the 2019/20, when Michael Arteta became the first high profile football person to contract COVID-19.
3. COVID & Gameweeks + (2/3)

As the country went into lockdown and the premier league was suspended, FPL managers were left wondering what was to become of their FPL teams. Inexplicably, FPL determined that the remaining Gameweeks would play out with no games in them.
3. COVID & Gameweeks + (3/3)

This left fans in the dark as to what would happen next and showed how poor the tech behind the game was. In the end, the game restarted with GW30+ and all managers were given a free wildcard to set their teams up for the remaining weeks.
2. Brighton of Bother (1/3)

During the 2018/19 season, a lot of managers were left with their triple captain chip intact towards the end of the season. The DGW 32 fixtures came out and Brighton were handed favourable fixtures against Bournemouth and Cardiff.
2. Brighton of Bother (2/3)

Ignoring the fact that Brighton had kept 1 clean sheet since February (vs Huddersfield), fans instead focussed on defenders Dunk and particularly Shane Duffy, who had scored 5 goals already during the season.
2. Brighton of Bother (3/3)

Many wildcarded into double Brighton defence and even triple captained Duffy. Shockingly, Brighton lost 5-0 vs Bournemouth and 2-0 vs Cardiff, leaving all Brighton defenders with a maximum of 1 point.
1. Brunt Force Trauma (1/3)

Surely you saw this one coming? Perhaps the original FPL incident and one people still refer to years on. During the 16/17 season, Chris Brunt (a well owned player at the time) put in a corner that was converted by Jonny Evans. Or so manager thought.
1. Brunt Force Trauma (2/3)

It turned out that the Premier League match centre felt Gareth McCauley got the (very slight) final touch on the ball, so he was given the goal and Evans the assist. Many, many, many viewers disagreed.
1. Brunt Force Trauma (3/3)

FPL were forced to adjust their points accordingly, meaning that Brunt and FPL fans were left with nothing. Justice for Brunt entered the FPL jargon catalogue that gameweek and the rest is history.
