The Secret Role of Insurers in Medicare Opioid Policy — Pain News Network painnewsnetwork.org/stories/2017/1…
This is an important piece of the design to reduce and deny opioids for palliation.
This site describes the healthcare fraud prevention partnership (HFPP) a collaboration of 270+ insurers, data tracking organizations, and state attorneys general in tracking of patient and physician data, and provides the blueprint for prosecution.

Jeff Sessions role in creating secret surveillance of physicians and patients resulted in his infamous news conference where he stated that patients should just tough it out and use 'Bufferin.'

"...in addition to the 12 prosecutors I sent to prosecute opioid fraud in “hot spot districts.” To help them do that, I have begun a new data analytics program at the Dept called the Opioid Fraud and Abuse Detection Unit to use data to find opioid-related health care fraud."
Since January 2017, we have charged more than 200 doctors and another 220 other medical personnel for opioid-related crimes. Just sixteen of those doctors prescribed more than 20.3 million pills illegally.
Last summer we set a record for the largest health care fraud enforcement action in American history.
This summer, we broke that record. We coordinated the efforts of more than 1,000 state and federal law enforcement agents to charge more than 600 defendants—including 76 doctors—with more than $2 billion in fraud.
270+ federal, state, and private partners are sharing data about patients who use opioids and physicians who prescribe them.

While Jeff Sessions spewed tired tropes about how the world gets by without pain care and people in the USA expect more than they are entitled to, @HRW shares their investigation into exactly what this means -
@AshleyJudd You had an experience that elaborates the horror of traveling for emergency lifesaving care after a catastrophic injury. Is this something you could get behind?
Meanwhile, @HRW brought facts derived from investigation of access to pain palliation around the world

I am working with a young mom on the west coast with a clear progression of symptoms that looks like EDS associated with a childbirth injury due to an errant epidural. Throughout, her male physicians have gaslighted her, attributing tangible symptoms to psychiatric illness.
Rather than letting the data inform a diagnostic process, their theory is to deny, deflect the tangible persistent symptoms that are interrupting her daily life.
This is physician failure to adopt an appropriate diagnostic model, not patient failure.
Siloed care fails complexity.
Complex comorbidies are FAILED by siloes of care.
Acute care relies on approaches that tackle simple problems.
Complex comorbidities require 3D, integrated approaches to tackle what amounts to wicked problems.
Acute care approaches FAIL complex care problems.

Five undervaccinated clusters put the entire United States at risk

cnn.com/2021/07/08/hea…
'The five clusters are in parts of eight states, starting in the east in GA and stretching west to TX and north to so MO. The clusters also nclude parts of AL, AR, LA, OK and #Tennessee, and are made up of mostly smaller counties but also cities...'
Vaccination rates (2 jabs) in @GovBillLee's targeted travel cities. All of these metro areas are surrounded by county rates that are far lower.

Let's not park our personal brains at the door.
If you're vaccinated and in an indoor area, but you don't know the status of folks around you, it's perfectly okay to use a mask - maybe even desirable.
If you are indoors with folks for whom you know the status (+/-) just think.

So there's thus thing called a gas pipeline which is operated with digital software that should have been upgraded years ago and regularly maintained but somehow infrastructure hasn't been a funding priority.
Now the pipeline (that everyone knew was vulnerable) has been hacked by criminals and the fix that should have been in long ago has to be built as a workaround.
And 1000 gas stations are drained because folks are hoarding gas and now you're mad cause you can't fill your tank.
