1. Its important to understand how sports really works... Probably every country, with the exception of the US, has govt involvement in sports... India being among the worst where retired cops & robbers are appointed heads of sports bodies..
2. The US does not have any Sports minister and all their sports bodies & Olympic org are independent bodies... The only way State govts fund sports is through their INDIRECT funding of universities but no direct funding.. @sudeshna2104
3. Till 1980 Olympics were hosted by countries with govt funding.. except the US which had part funding by states.. It was always a loss-making activity.. It is in 1984 that a genius called Peter Uberroth was made Head LA Olympics that the game changed..

1/3.. I dont know why this @sri9011 keeps demanding psychologists and "Motivators" for athletes.. They are in the Olympics.. its their skill that matters... Psychologists can help in "Obstructive combat" like Boxing or Wrestling...
2/3.. Despite that... Our athletes have indeed been give psychologists to help their mental muddle.. but you dont win all games with minds... Its not chess... the losses are mostly due to higher skilled athletes winning..
3/3... Radhika Kawira & Sanjana Kiran are psychologists already with our Olympic team.. So your dream demand is taken care of... What are "Motivators"? Some faaltu Norman Vincent Pelu Modis?.. The coaches & support team, captains & co-players are supp to be motivators @sri9011
