Yerra, sure I was doing similar* on the kerbs of Rush in 2003
By similar*, I mean I could land a Pop Shove-It, an Ollie and a couple of 180s and not much else.
Tickled to see some serious people in their 30s having a dig at skateboarders being in the Olympics because it's not very 'counter culture'. Alright gramps, it's a professional sport. This isn't the Central Bank.

🇮🇪 Ireland has its first medal in Tokyo!

#Bronze for Aifric Keogh, Eimear Lambe, Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty in the Women’s Four - the first Irish women to take home a medal in rowing.

A fantastic achievement

As ever, lovely stuff in the anime-influenced art commissioned by the Irish Embassy in Japan. #Olympics Image
But wait… there’s more!

Siobhan Bernadette Haughey - grandniece of Charlie Haughey - has taken the silver in the 200m freestyle for Hong Kong.

Delighted to see this taking place after all. I thought it was toast.
They wanted to hold it earlier this year but the plans went a rye.
I’ll stop with the AP Planner puns… you all deserve butter.

⚡️ Indoor hospitality reopens today for fully-vaccinated customers and those who have recovered from COVID within the past 6 months.

Some pubs which closed on March 15 2020 will open their doors for the first time since then.

Here’s how it works
🆔 All adults show their photo ID along with proof of vaccination (mostly the COVID digital certificate).

🧒 Kids don’t need proof of vaccination when accompanied by parent/guardian.

🚪 Staff will be present on doors of all premises.

🕦 All premises must be clear by 11.30pm.
⏱ No time limit on tables.

📱 Late change means only lead customer’s name and phone number will be taken for contact tracing purposes.

😷 Masks on whenever you’re not seated at your table. No bar service.

HSE presser underway.

Paul Reid: All key indicators of the virus are going up. 5 day average up 95%, 7 day average up 93%.
🏥 95 in hospital. 23 in ICU.

"We haven't seen the worst impact of what we've seen modelled in the coming weeks. We're in the early stages."

Thankfully, he says, we are coming off a low base.
On admissions of people for reasons other than Covid - but who test positive after that point, Reid says these take up more resources than non-positive patients.

They need additional resources, isolation etc.

(Will ask about extent of this shortly)

🔆 Status Yellow High Temperature warning issued by @MetEireann.

Daytime temperatures of 27-30°.
Night temperatures of 17-20°.

@VirginMediaNews Image
We’ve now got an ORANGE warning for Cavan, Monaghan, south Leitrim. Roscommon, Longford and Westmeath.

“EXCEEDING 30 degrees… with overnight temperatures no lower than around 20 degrees”!

🥵 Image
Looking forward to the most creative "Cavan to be hotter than Hanoi", "Monaghan beats Manila" news headlines tbh.
