It was always a bad idea to close schools. It was a forgivable bad idea in the spring of 2020. By the fall of 2020, the data were clear and it was no longer a forgivable mistake. By 2021 It's criminal to keep it closed any longer
Many of the children attending school will have antibody evidence that they have encountered SARS COV 2.

The risk of kids spreading to their vaccinated parents is incredibly low. Not even in the ballpark needed to even entertain the idea of keeping schools closed.
Apparently creating a social media platform that allows people who have never thought through a complex policy decision in their life to make strong proclamations and be selectively covered by reporters who share those anxieties was a bad idea
Closing public schools year after year is a type of voter suppression. You are robbing generation of kids, disproportionately poor and minority, from the tools to engage in political processes. It is an insidious and poisonous voter suppression.
