🧵Whether or not you think the "performance review" of Fulton Elections is merited, here's why it is doomed. Only damage will result. I''ll list some reasons A to H on this thread.

A. It's politically driven, not an attempt at getting answers. SOS controls review staff.

2/ B. SEB is to appoint a "Performance Review Bd." ("PRB") in 30 days. First, the GA Senators must correct their request for Fulton review. They requested to review staff, (not permitted by law).
Do they have guts to review GOP members of Fulton Bd? (Only choice permitted.)

3/ PRB can't review staff. Can only review full board. ENTIRE board must be fired en masse if SEB wants to replace management.

C. PRB will be unwieldy. Likely to be 11 members! 2 "local election officials" are appointed. An "official" is full board, not an individual.

4/ Those 2 "officials" will be bi-partisan boards from other counties, or probate judges from small counties with no idea how big county elections work.

Given the partisan nature of the review, political sides will be drawn from the beginning.

1 member will be SOS staffer.

5/ Partisans will influence those 11 PRB members from other county boards. They are generally appointed by the two major county parties.
They will advocate for their parties' interests, not for the ground truth or improvement.

6/ D. The outcome is predetermined.
SOS staffer will control information.
5 D's will say that Fulton is doing fine in tough conditions, and 5 R's will say Fulton Bd is inept and must be replaced. The PRB vote will be split, but SOS staffer will have deciding vote for report

7/ No surprise-- Raffensperger will have his staffer recommend a take over of Fulton.

E. The information gleaned from Fulton will be whatever SOS wants as he controls the staffer and no one else will be empowered to play the information control game.

8/ Avg PRB member would have no idea how to ask for the actual information needed for an objective review.

The SOS will cherrypick the info to place blame on Fulton for his terrible system and flawed "audit."

9/
F. No one will get the answers they want and deserve. But massive money and time will be spent with escalating tensions and no improvement.

SOS gets to pound his chest to enhance his 2022 primary chances.

10.
G. Fundamental voting system flaws will be swept under the rug by SOS in the process, focusing all the attention on "Bad Fulton," rather than the dangerous voting system.

Both parties will be happy that core voting system flaws are being ignored at Fulton's expense.

11/ H.
A muddled contentious report from the big PRB will cause more strife, and force the SEB to make a decision on taking over the Fulton Elec. Bd.

Partisan politics will drive the SEB decision, no doubt, while no one is working on real improvements.

12/ There ARE simple straightforward non-partisan solutions.
