Sushruta’s estimated birth yr ranges between 1200–600 BC in Varanasi.
Sushruta learned medicine at Varanasi under the guidance of famous teacher Divodasa Dhanvantari. He learnt how the human body works and what are types of diseases which causes pain and its eradication.
Sushruta Samhita is known as one of the foundational texts of Ayurveda and is said to contain 184 chapters, describing a total of 1120 illnesses,700 medicinal plants, 400 types of surgeries, 64 detailed techniques to extract medicines from minerals and 57 detailed techniques to
extract medicines from living beings, along with detailed drawings to explain the design and functioning of 121 surgical instruments.
Sushrut’s excellence in surgery and original insights in all branches of medicine render him the most versatile genius in the history of medical science. His contributions have withstood the test of over three thousand years.

The "Neela Chakra" ( Sudarshana Chakra) of Shri Jagannath Mandir.
The wheel is made of eight metals comprising of iron, copper, zinc, mercury, lead, brass, silver and gold. It's circumferance is about 36 feet and it is so designed that there is a wheel within the wheel. The circumferance of the inner wheel is about 26 feet.
Eight hubs join together the inner and the outer wheels. There are decorative designs on the outer wheel. The thickness of the Neela Chakra is 2 inches.
