I really enjoyed the Back 4 Blood beta. I wanted to make a thread about the accessibility but played so much I'm exhausted, which is a good sign. I updated today and added alt-text.
- Menu Narration is available and just as you run the game it tells you via voice how to turn it on as seen in this video.
- 2 voices for narration, female and male. It reads menus, weapons stats, card names...
Alt text: Video shows the initial setup. A voice instructs you on how to activate Text-To-Speech, with a simple press. Then it shows how other options are being read aloud.
- Captions for everything. Can configure the level of info displayed between Dialogue, Ambience or Full.
- Caption text size from 0 to 40. Background opacity customization. Colors for different things, includes colorblindness schemes. Picture of full captions at 40 text size.
- Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text.
- Crosshair has reticle and dot versions plus coloors to choose from.
- Colorblind modes.
- Brightness, contrast adjustable.
- Camera Shake, Motion Blur and FOV controls.
- All UI navigation is fully usable via mouse and controller.
- Full key remapping, except the Pause menu which is Escape and can't be rebound.
- Full mouse button usage, extra buttons, mouse wheel up & down too! Yes!
- Separate Multipliers for Aiming Down Sight sensitivity for short and long range.
- On-screen keyboard works well.
- Controller presets and button remapping.
- Toggles or Holds for Aim, Run, Crouch.
- For controller you have both Aim Assist and Target Snap.
- Vibration on/off and intensity slider.
- Separate Horizontal and Vertical Sensitivity and deadzone adjustment sliders.
Suggestions:
- Toggle option for using, revive...
- Toggle option for communication wheel.
- Autowalk feature.
- Higher maximum sensitivity values for people needing it.
- Consistency for menu narration and slider values. It shows 50 and reads zero five.
- Optional outlines for enemies.
- Highlight outline customization (color, width)
- Text-to-Speech should read in game weapon stats.
Very nice work overall, keep going! You got me really excited for the game.
