Brazen broad daylight robbery in Oakland Chinatown yesterday 2PM

Look at the getaway driver: casual. This is organized, this is repeating, and if we say nothing we sponsor it.

Our Asian American communities are under constant attack by repeat offenders

Police are looking for information about this case.

I doubt they thought the robbers had a gun, otherwise they wouldn’t have put up that kind of fight.

Turns out I am friends of friends with the victim. Small world and doesn’t make me feel very good about the SF Bay Area which is my home and where I grew up.
Goddamn it all they wanted was a boba with their friends at 2PM on a Saturday and this happened

I’m super mad about violent charges being dropped in @cyantist’s home invasion case

This DA violates victims rights and then spends massive government resources on misinformation campaigns and discrediting his political enemies instead of doing his job. It’s truly ridiculous.
How is it possible this can happen in San Francisco and the state willfully fails the victims of crimes? It’s like victims don’t matter. This is not right.

Telling your story as crisply as possible is always correlated with success. Great marketing is a multiplier on substance.

I realize I have a huge bias for substance first. The craziest thing is that marketing when it is good enough can raise enough money to build it later.
Jobs without Woz might have made it without Woz, but the combination made Apple at the right time in a fast growing market. And in a crowded market that mattered!
But a Woz can learn or find a Jobs from the side of substance and what they must do is learn how to tell the story with conviction and crisply. I’ve seen it done. It is possible.

I grew up at times poor and food insecure, the child of Chinese Immigrants making their way who not always were able to make ends meet, because of language or alcohol addiction
I was berated for a B on a test but if I got a B on a report card I got a punch to the face. Realizing that shouldn’t happen to a child.

And how that translated into a strong overwhelming superego that powered my own inner monologue

When someone questions the judgment of impractical idealists like Chesa Boudin or Alison Collins, there is an almost cult-like backlash to their critics.

The more I spend time looking deep at these issues, the more clear it is the baizuo 白左 are wrong

Do you know this person in the red glasses? He stole signed petitions with voter info and impeded an open democratic process to recall the SF School Board.

Apparently quite a few far left Bay Area elected and appointed officials associate with this person with the red glasses.
Hard to know for certain if this is the person, but Internet folks tracked down this public Facebook album from July 2019 facebook.com/media/set/?van…

Future DA Chesa Boudin was there. So was Allison Collins, who is being recalled now.

Starlink is opening up the world to access to the Internet, connecting billions and making more of the planet connected, but the sky NIMBYs are upset
I suppose in their defense a more reasonable headline saying “The night sky is being changed by Starlink and is it worth it?” won’t get the clicks, so

DYSTOPIA IT IS
I’m torn since Vox does do good work on explainers and helping people understand the world.

But I wish there was more of a moderating force in editorial decisions because things have been pushed to such extremes the past few years.
