The base rate fallacy explains why the #ScaredVaccinated don’t comprehend the good news about the pandemic numbers. 1
There is new data for the 80% of people over 65 who have been vaccinated to be optimistic. The CDC reported the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines prevent hospitalization for 96% of people 65 -74-years-old. So grandma has been saved. Hallelujah
Children and teens continue to be safe from COVID. During the whole pandemic, 350 died from a base rate of 75 million.
There’s an increase in children hospitalized due to the more contagious Delta variant, but base rates show less than .1 % of kids with COVID are hospitalized
For adults under 65 with no health conditions, it’s virtually impossible to die from COVID. The overall survival rate including the elderly and underlying conditions is 98.7 percent— even if you’re not vaccinated.
For the vaccinated, the survival rate may be 100%
The #ScaredVaccinated are incapable of understanding how these facts and food news translate into their lives.
Their cognitive bias and panic make them perceive that they could die. They are afraid of their children dying. This is why they want everyone else vaccinated.

The opposite of the #ScaredVaccinated is the Grateful Vaccinated, who have little to worry about COVID. Nine out of 10 will not catch the virus. That one “breakthrough” case will be much less severe or no symptoms. None of them will die of COVID.
What splits the vaccinated is fear. The #ScaredVaccinated are panicking over what they can’t control, which at this point in the pandemic, is simply other people’s health decisions. They are driven by emotions, not facts.
David Chipman, the gun control activist who is Biden nominee to run ATF, now up at Senate confirmation hearing. judiciary.senate.gov/meetings/05/19…
David Chipman tells @ChuckGrassley that if confirmed at ATF, he will turn over the Hunter Biden gun purchase info (alleged illegal felon prohibited purchased)
David Chipman said the photo of him at Waco is fake. Also he should have been more careful about saying how the Branch Davidians 50 caliber gun was used to shoot down the helicopters.
Herd immunity does not mean the other 30% can’t get the virus, it’s just harder to spread. The bigger issue in this debate over herd immunity through vaccination is why does it matter if young and healthy people continue to get the virus and pass it to each other? #EmilyPosts
The other reason given for herd immunity through vaccine is immunocompromised person who is medically incapable of being inoculated from COVID.
Biden and the doctors should give the public specifics on how many Americans are in this category. #EmilyPosts
I’ve been thinking and reflecting and praying all week on the Monday daily devotional from church which our rector Rev. Russell Levenson wrote. Too long for twitter but it’s about Jesus as our best friend. (Thread)
“As close as some of my friends are, none of them can bear by sins and my griefs. And to none do I carry my prayers.”
(All quotes by Rev. Russ Levenson )
“Jesus changed all of that. God zipped Himself into a suit of flesh to live among us because He wanted more than a relationship at a distance; He wanted something closer than anyone could have ever imagined.”
Jason Hornady got his first death threat a couple of days ago.
“Everyone thinks it's a conspiracy not to ship more. They think we’re lying about not selling a box of ammo. We have two years on order today. I promise we are making more. Everybody is.”
Hornady said demand for ammo has tripled in just a year and a half. Started when Walmart stopped selling guns and ammo. Then pandemic, riots in cities, defund police, millions of first time gun owners and now Biden gun control push. #EmilyPosts@TeamHornady
