🚨🧵 This morning, CNN's @brikeilarcnn tried to disingenuously downplay the COVID threat posed by record numbers of illegal aliens crossing our border.
 
She claimed that conservatives are ”infecting Americans...with misinformation.“ Let's go to the tape... #BidenBorderCrisis

@brikeilarcnn We *do* know COVID rates among illegal aliens are skyrocketing, as this report by @GriffJenkins @AdamShawNY makes quite clear: fxn.ws/3fPXmKX

We also *know* that record numbers of illegal aliens are being released into the United States by CBP, and that thousands of them are testing positive for COVID after release.

Instead of covering these numbers, Keilar chose to demonize conservatives, claiming these concerns are ”the centuries-old trope of demonizing foreign people as diseased.“

This is a vicious smear against Americans concerned about the #BidenBorderCrisis.

Keilar also falsely conflates concern for opening our schools back up with the COVID threat posed by mass illegal migration. 

We've known for months that children are far less at risk from the virus.

Those crossing our border illegally, most of whom are over 15, do spread it.

Fox's @BillFOXLA (give him a follow!) reported last week on thousands of illegal aliens being detained under a bridge because CBP had nowhere else to put them.

These conditions are a public health nightmare that facilitate the spread of COVID. bit.ly/3CzM2fV

Illegal aliens are being released into our communities, testing positive, and then traveling to other parts of the country. NBC reported this earlier this year, and it's still happening. 

This is not how you stop the spread of a virus. #BidenBorderCrisis

Keilar subsequently tweeted, in response to a critique from @bennyjohnson, that almost all illegal aliens are being tested and/or quarantined when they test positive.
 
This is not true.

In fact, officials in the Rio Grande Valley expressed frustrations just *last week* that they didn't have the ability to enforce a quarantine of illegal aliens who test positive for COVID after being released by @CBP.

No one’s claiming COVID-positive illegal aliens are the only reason COVID rates are going up. But it’s wrong for Keilar to mock legitimate public health concerns.
 
Why not use her platform to actually investigate instead of downplay? #BidenBorderCrisis
