On this day in May, a stranger offered to take my photo as I lay on the rocks on the "beach" in Nice, France.
Later, I was curious as to why there were so many people at the train station and then saw actress #TildaSwinton standing (very tall!) with her entourage boarding the 20-minute train from Nice to Cannes. Because, unbeknownst to me, Cannes Film Festival was happening.
So I hopped on Tilda's train w/my backpack + spent the day watching international movie stars running from premiere to premiere in glamorous suits + gowns, had an amazing lunch of #coqauvin at a streetside cafe, then bought a bottle of wine + bread and walked down to the beach...
where they were setting up a giant outdoor screen for that night's festival screening of #LawrenceOfArabia (1962). Because I wandered into the area early, they didn't kick me out.
And I sat there that night on the beach at Cannes, watching #LAWRENCEOFARABIA with French subtitles, with the fanciest yachts in the world floating in the background, sipping my wine. I could've died right then + lived a happy life. #followyourdreams#classicmovies#cannes
