One of the testers has been a naughty boy, this wasn't meant to be released! There are though some very interesting things from this City NGP test video. Read the thread. $XPEV #XPeng#SmartEV#autonomousCar#selfDrivingCar#China
When watching the video watch with the time bar because otherwise it looks confusing. There are though at least three things to note:
1 The car merges left into the correct lane to undertake the left turn.
2 The traffic light is changing but the car correctly identifies the light.
3 The car makes left turn. Note the island between the road and the P5 knows to go on the right side not the left. Also the car goes into the left most lane when entering the new road.
So what can we learn? Well testing of the XPeng P5 seems at an advanced stage for City NGP. The XPeng P5 will launch in around October. City NGP should come online for XPilot 3.5 equipped models by early next year. Looks like it is pretty ready though!

Actually note how the XPeng P5 merges right at the first opportunity. I've experienced problems with a Model 3 on a highway merging right at the last minute.
Remember the XPeng P5 uses Lidar and will likely be the first production car to be released with Lidar. There are 3 or 4 other Lidar Chinese cars set to be launched before the end of 22H1 most of them are far more expensive than the P5.
