Hi, this is Suchi @suchiswriting taking over this account!
I'm talking today about my love for wandering around Ibrahim Sahib street. Some glimpses up ahead. #cityofwomen @whyloiter #women #publicspaces
There is a rhythm to these streets that took getting used to. But now, the walking feels easy.
You never know what you'll find here, amidst the laces and the bling.
For instance, this month, it is the #1 resource for stuffed sheep toys
One of my favourite places in the area is Navrang Printing & Dyeing
Here's my mom's old saree being resurrected!
Masaal-puri at Sagar Chaat often fuels my walk.
Pro-tip: Ask for extra sev!
And some days I've ventured further, to stock up on tea!
Or maybe some khoa naan to take home and keep the happiness going!
The pandemic has taken away some of these pleasures
but I'm holding on to hope (and the memory of khoa naan).
Where will you go when things return to normal?

"For a long time, I slotted my bazaar walks as a time-waster. Why, I didn't even have shopping to show for it!" .@suchiswriting #whyloiter #walking #women #tuesdaytakeover
And then I read "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. She prescribes something she calls The Artist Date, a weekly date with, er, yourself. She writes: "The Artist Date is a once-weekly, festive, solo expedition to explore something that interests you." #theartistsway
"The Artist Date need not be overtly 'artistic'– think mischief more than mastery. Artist Dates fire up the imagination. They spark whimsy. They encourage play."

It's been a while since Radhika Viswanathan @radhikavisw shared one of her wandering vignettes with us. This week, she describes something we've all experienced at some point or the other. What we want to know is: do you yield or do you not yield?

Hi. If you're on Instagram, we really hope you check out our feed today. We have the most amazing guest curator Pooja Saxena @anexasajoop instagram.com/p/CN1cPWmJy6i/…
@anexasajoop: For as long as I can remember, I have judged the safety of a street or a public space by the number of women I could see. Lots of women 👍🏼 Barely any 👎🏼 (Waaaay) More often than I would like to admit, I have walked streets where the only woman to be seen was me.
.@poojasaxena More than a question of safety, it feels like a matter of tacit discouragement — you’re not welcome. On days like that, I look to sign boards around me to find any trace of women. Maybe the street is named after one? Or a store, perhaps? Even those are hard to find.

This year, we've worked with some amazingly talented artists to create a visual language for the #cityofwomenpodcast and stunning episode artworks. We write about the process and the thinking behind it on the @VaakaMedia blog
medium.com/@vaakamedia/ep…
@cavelightstudio designed our roving eye logo and album artwork.
As we worked towards the launch of episode 1, we knew we wanted to work with artists to create individual artworks for each episode. Adrija Ghosh made this fantastic artwork for Movies (Listen to the episode here: open.spotify.com/episode/3w3al3…)
