There was this one post by a doctor that's been doing the rounds on Instagram. This one. And when I re-shared it - the OB-GYNs spoke up on what happens to women in 2021 that give birth to baby girls.

This is 2021 India. Where the birth of girls is abhorred. The women who give birth to girls harassed.

Someday girls in India will wake to a better society until then - we suffer.

Our TShirts last 10 washes. Men’s T Shirts last 10 years. So long lasting that if you decide to make it a ‘pocha’ and then change your mind to wear it - you *still* could.

Women’s workout clothes - tight, form fitting and uncomfortable at the crotch. Else you need to pay a bomb.

Men’s - Airy, comfortable.

Is your school POCSO compliant?
Did you have awareness & sensitization sessions with all the teachers, support staff & management?
If so, when?
Who constitutes @SushilHariIRs your ICC unit? Who heads it?
Your school is also a Residential school it seems like.
Do you have a skill built committee in the school? A policy? If so, what is it?
The notice of an ICC / POSCO Unit with contact details must be publicly visible in your school visible to all students. Please prove publicly that it was done.
Were students given training about safe and unsafe touch and whom they were asked to report to? @SushilHariIRS

An adult that has some amount of power in the space of education, be it schools, colleges, tutions or as PhD mentors, abuses it to assault their wards.
Kripali shared reports of a Karate Teacher coercing a kid into ‘consensual sex’ which is actually r*pe.
It is extremely tiresome when caste, religious identities, and whataboutery dances its ugly dance.

People who say what about Loyola when a case of child sexual abuse happens, ‘what about harassment in xyz religion?’ are taking the little space survivors have to get vindicated.
The FOCUS should be on survivors, providing a safe space for them to speak out and get justice.
Kids, women and LGBTQI across the board are subject to harassment by abusers across caste and religion. The chances of getting justice for ANYONE takes years in this system.

In Oct 2020, Joelgiftson shared screenshots from over 60 kids alleging misconduct by SamJaisunder & Reuben Clement of the Scripture Union.
The reason why Sam Jaisunder got suspended AND arrested was because ONE student, filed a complaint of what happened to her a few years ago
The misconduct had happened to her when she was a minor, but she filed as an adult and her complaint was taken following social media furore and some fantastic press support.
It is important to report to keep Child Sex Offenders AWAY from kids.

When parents don't report fearing backlash and shaming - which is also true because society *is* messed up - such men easily move into the Private tution space where there'll be absolutely no governing body at all.
