This morning, and article written by @akarl_smith caught my eye. It’s about a supposed “political battlefield” that Trump and his supporters have “cultivated.”
According to @akarl_smith , “Schools have become the focal point for culture war fights that animated former President Donald Trump's base and have been advanced by conservative activists and influencers since he left office.”
I will summarize the piece here: Leftists are very upset that their efforts to indoctrinate children are now being opposed after decades of inaction by anyone on the political right.
So if you’re in terrorist-occupied territory, and the terrorists are telling you that you can’t leave until a certain set of demands or conditions are met, then you’re not… a hostage?
Once again, leftist journalists turn themselves inside out to concoct a ridiculous narrative.
Answer: When the hostage situation makes a Democrat look bad. Then they’re not really hostages. They’re just guests who have not yet been invited to leave.
Let’s do a thought exercise, @NaveedAJamali. Let’s say Trump is still president. In this scenario, Trump completely botched the withdrawal. For days and days, the Taliban blockades the airport and refuses to let Americans leave. A bomb explodes and kills 14 Marines.
It’s going to take a while to get this out, so bear with me.
Begin:
Malala Yousafzai has become an international symbol for feminism and female education equality. The political left holds her as a hero.
Malala is the daughter of educational activist, who were determined to see that their daughter get a proper education in a part of the world where women and girls were banned from attending school.
On October 9, 2012, after attending school and taking an exam, Malala and two other girls were shot. Malala herself was shot in the head and nearly died.
The Taliban, mocking the United States military, recreates the iconic flag planting on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima. To add injury to insult, the Taliban are fully equipped with American military equipment. cc: @mchooyah
Before all is said and done, it will very likely be revealed that the United States government intentionally and specifically handed Afghanistan over to the Taliban.
It would explain why the President of Afghanistan safely and freely left the country, via helicopter, with a satchel full of cash.
It would explain the ease with which the Taliban captured the whole of Afghanistan with zero resistance.
The United States did not withdraw from Afghanistan. We RETREATED. Make no mistake, withdraw was necessary. But the way it was done dishonors those who spilled their blood in a remote corner of the world.
My heart goes out to all who left part of themselves in Afghanistan. My thoughts are with the wives and children of warfighters who never came back. Their eyes glued to the television as they watch the Taliban gloating over America’s abandonment of sensitive military equipment.
My heart goes out to Gold Star families. I can’t imagine how they must feel, watching the President of the United States claiming that the “drawdown is proceeding in a safe and orderly way.” Biden is not fit to speak to them.
