Metro loves to pat itself on the back, but it’s still offering less service than it did in 2008, despite *massive* taxpayer “investment.”

Ridership peaked in 2008.
It’s not only Metro that pats Metro on the back. It’s an army of shills and “journalists,” too.
These people think they’re doing good by protecting Metro when they’re actually making Metro worse by not holding it to account.
Metro is not some starving child in need of protection.

It’s a multi-billion dollar bureaucracy that runs trains and buses on the side.

They have a double digit body count, yet are arrogant beyond belief.

The only time I want to hear Metro brag about ridership is when they eclipse their peak ridership, which happened THIRTEEN YEARS AGO.
They're getting MUCH MORE money than they did in 2008, yet the ridership was 20% down before the pandemic hit.

You're getting ripped off.
They've systematically CUT service despite more funding. Even the latest increase in service doesn't bring service to 2008 levels.

Here’s the context. Hardly “harmful.”

Remember in 2010 when twitter was fun and not a buzzkill? Image
The dumbest people in the county joined Twitter and ruined it.

Metro should pledge to be 100% nuclear powered.
To be clear, I don't mean the individual trains should be nuclear powered. I mean from electricity produced by nuclear energy. NO ONE from Metro should be allowed within 5 miles of a nuclear power plant.
Correction: 10 miles

When you realize Metro is a giant grift, it all makes sense.

The actual transit part is a pesky annoyance reluctantly provided as a cover story.
If you don’t believe me on the reluctant part, just think how much service has been cut over the last decade. Think of how metro treated the transit dependent and essential workers during the pandemic. Think about them paying Lyft for a late night service substitute
Metro calls a lid when there’s a dusting is snow!

Think how often Metro itself has told riders to “seek alternatives.”

Remember the weird bus strike? Metro was like the honey badger while people were cut off.

So soon? The 7000s must be worse than we know.
Subway cars should have decades-long lifespans. Metro renewed its fleet a couple years ago.
Take a look at how old some of the cars on the Tokyo subway are:
