Y'day, I was on a call with a business associate who is based out of Switzerland.

Having received his dose of Moderna that day, he said- "we are fortunate to have access to vaccines in here...considering the "state" in India; people are not getting vaccines, suffering..."

On 16th Aug, India did 9.3 million doses. 21st June: ~9.2 million doses.

Switzerland's population: ~8.7 million.

Avg vaccinations in Aug in India: 5M doses/day.

In one day, Bharat has administered more doses than their entire population. On multiple days.

They have vaccinated ~50% of theirs in ~8 months.

I politely pointed this out.

The borderline smugness was punctured.

I know it is a small country to compare with.

The point: folks are pretty ignorant about India's achievements compared to developed, rich nations.

Gratitude to PM Modi & his Govt, our scientists, administrations & healthcare workers who are making this possible.

We have crossed 56 crore vaccine doses. Almost all on the back of indigenously manufactured vaccines. Couldn't be any prouder.

When you see the history of vaccination here, you realize what we have accomplished under the Modi Govt. They have not allowed us to be manipulated by the West which would have used the vaccines as a geopolitical tool.

Even more concerning as we see the AFG situation today.

What we have achieved under this PM & Govt, reassures that *this is India's decade*. Legacy issues being tackled in the right way. Transformation across sectors. You might have issues with the speed; but governance & change is tougher than tweeting.
