@AbigailBoydMLC Treasury are telling us they don't know the current financial position of Icare. They don't know how many covid related claims have been dealt with by icare.
@AbigailBoydMLC Have treasury taken steps to ensure workers are protected by workers compensation if they have an adverse reaction to a vaccine that is compulsory for their workplace? No - they refer the matter to NSW Health.
@AbigailBoydMLC How many claims have been made for covid contracted in the line of work? They don't know - will come back to us with an answer.
@AbigailBoydMLC Have Treasury done any modelling on paying people to stay home.
No.
How on earth are they not even looking into this?!
@AbigailBoydMLC We're being told all the financial modelling work for the covid isolation payment is cabinet in confidence so they can't tell us the underpinnings of them, the predicted cost of these measures, how many people are planned to access this payment.
@AbigailBoydMLC What was Treasury's role in the $5.5 million grant to Wagga Wagga? When the current Premier was Teasurer did she have a role in this grant?
They don't know, and will take that on notice.
@AbigailBoydMLC Given the notoriety of this grant allocation of $5.5 million in Wagga Wagga has Treasury commissioned a review into the process and the appropriateness of what was done?
No.
@AbigailBoydMLC Actually still quite surprised this hasn't prompted any organisational soul searching.

The NSW Auditor-General today released its report on managing climate risks to the state’s assets and services – sounds important, right? Take a deep breath, it’s an alarming read...🧵1/10
The A-G report states the govt is failing to properly plan for flooding, bushfires, extreme temperatures, and the damaging impacts to transport, communications and energy infrastructure, increases in hospital admissions... the terrifying list goes on: audit.nsw.gov.au/our-work/repor… 2/10
We’re talking essential services such as health care, education and public transport, as well as assets like roads, railway lines, communications and energy infrastructure. 3/10
Advance notice that the Education Committee of the NSW Parliament will table a report at 10am today into Mark Latham’s “Parental Rights” Bill - a bill which attacks teachers, students, and families in the name of a warped right-wing ideology #nswpol
To the young transgender people who have had the misfortune to be exposed to this bill and the inquiry around it, I want to assure you that you are not alone. The Greens NSW join with all of those who will fight against this bill.
This report is a sham and an embarrassment to the NSW Parliament, it ignores the great majority of the evidence before the committee that staunchly opposed the Bill. The report such that it is is here: parliament.nsw.gov.au/committees/inq…
Here's the Police Commissioner telling police there won't be consequences if they issue fines improperly or illegally - as if even more brutal policing is going to solve a public health crisis!!
In what other job would you be given a free pass by your boss to break the law like this, again and again without consequence?! Of course if ordinary community members get it wrong they face massive fines and potential jail time
Anyone in NSW who has been paying attention knows the problem is absolutely not TOO MUCH police accountability! Every year police settle civil cases against them for millions, dollars & police involved rarely face any penalty. Now we see the Commissioner is complicit in this.
Across Australia child protection systems remove First Nations children at grossly unacceptable rates. This repeats centuries of state-sanctioned violence against First Nations families. Now we have another tragic, but appallingly predictable, death. abc.net.au/news/2021-08-2…
The dreadful removal rates of First Nations children is seen by bureaucrats and politicians as intractable and impossible to solve. It’s not.
To reverse the rate of First Nations child removals we need to stick to basic principles: 1. First Nations families, elders and communities know best how to raise and protect their kids. They have 60,000 plus years experience doing this and must be the empowered decision makers.
Parents of young people in Cobham juvenile detention centre are being informed today that an unvaccinated detention officer has tested Covid positive. Has been on shift for ten days apparently. Everyone very anxious. Seeking urgent clarification on this from juvenile justice.
Multiple questions to be answered by Juvenile Justice. Are staff requested to be vaccinated? Are the rumours that there have been anti-vax messages passing from staff to young people discouraging vaccination true? Where is justice health in all of this? We are chasing answers now
Now getting further clarification that it was likely officer was circulating for less than 10 days. Can’t say more than that now.
I’ll be asking questions in the Estimates hearing with the Premier’s department today - it’s so important to not let accountability disappear during crises like these! You’ll be able to watch this live on the Parliament YouTube channel from 9.30am: youtube.com/user/NSWParlia…#nswpol
