The First Lady @JanetMuseveni walks up to the podium to deliver her keynote address: "One should not be surprised about the better performance"

She adds that the Ministry of @Educ_SportsUg will continue to planning interventions for the sector. #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni says the 2020 UACE performance was better than the previous cycle judging from the results - 70% of the candidates in 2020, compared to 64% in 2019 attained principal passes to qualify them for progression for university education #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: On the other hand, in 2020, less than 1% of the candidates, compared to 1.4% in 2019, failed to attain a satisfactory result to qualify them for admission to university or tertiary education #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: "This improvement was also seen in the other two examinations for primary seven and senior four."

She notes the this confirms the positive impact of the continuing planning interventions by @Educ_SportsUg during the pandemic period #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: Indeed God continues to do good things for us #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: So, I do thank God that we have had our fair share of very good surprises this season. For better overall performance in academics "as well as those that lifted our national high at the recently concluded #TokyoOlympics2020"
@JanetMuseveni: I am glad to note that examination malpractice has continued to decline. Three years in a row, there has not been leakage in exam papers #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: The sooner many of you get vaccinated, the sooner we will open the institutions of learning. Learners above 18 years and teachers should get vaccinated #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: We envisage the Selection Exercise for S.1, S.5, and first years for tertiary institutions to be completed in the period of September and October 2021 #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: However, this does not mean that those selected learners will report to school immediately. The date of reporting will be communicated to the public as part of a revised School Calendar once a re-opening date has been agreed upon by Cabinet #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: In the meantime, as we all celebrate and thank God for the good performance of our young people whose results are being released today, please keep observing the basic COVID-19 SOPs #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: Strict observance of these SOPs will make us move faster to bringing the spread of COVID-19 under control #UACE2020
@JanetMuseveni: It is now my pleasure to release the Results of the 2020 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education for public use #UACE2020
