Clarifying #MUFC and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Twitter Misconceptions (A Thread) —

I’ve seen many fake facts being spouted by our own fans on here. Been wanting to correct them for a while, so here we go! ⤵️
1. “Solskjaer has been in charge for 4 years.”

Did you fail your math in school?Subtract 4 from 2021 and it’s 2017.
Ole became the permanent manager in March 2019 and this is his 3rd full season in charge.

It’s been 2 years and 5 months. Not 4 years.
2. “We are playing shit football. It’s boring.”

Goals in 17/18: 99
Goals in 18/19: 84
Goals in 19/20: 110
Goals in 20/21: 116

Games under Moyes, LvG and Jose (combined) where United scored 5+ goals: 2

Games under Solskjaer where United scored 5+ goals: 10

But sure, boring.
3. “Ole preaches but doesn’t promote the youth.”

Tell that to Mason Greenwood, Anthony Elanga, Shola Shoretire, Brandon Williams, Tahith Chong, James Garner, Dean Henderson, Teden Mengi, Hannibal Mejbri, Dylan Levitt, Will Fish, Ethan Laird and Ethan Galbraith.
4. “4-3-3 or nothing.”

Bust. While 4-3-3 will be used against certain oppositions (bottom half teams and low blocks), 4-2-3-1 will remain our primary formation. There is more than one way to win a title you know…
5. “We play two DMs in 4-2-3-1.”

Again, NOPE. Ole wants hybrid midfielders in the pivot — who play as a progressive CM on the ball and as a defensive CM off the ball. Such midfielders exhibit a high work rate and dominance on pitch.
Hence McFred works against most teams. Think.
6. “Ole is tactically naive. Just vibes.”

I wonder who schooled Marcelo Bielsa, Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Juergen Klopp, Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel?

Was it Aladdin’s genie?

PS: Arsenal curse (Arteta, Emery) to end this season.
7. “Manchester United under Solskjaer have no pull.”

So Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani just magically dropped from the skies onto Old Trafford, right?
Also, a certain Paul Pogba loves Solskjaer. Make that of what you will. 🤷🏼‍♂️
8. “AWB, McTominay and Dan James are championship players.”

Best defensive fullback in the league.
Underrated CM with defensive and attacking ability.
A high work rate winger with threatening pace.

Professional players and managers rate them. How is your judgement superior?
9. “What has Ole achieved after investing so much money?”

- younger, much fitter squad
- better brand of football
- a thriving academy
- revived use of sports science and data analysis
- a proper structure for transfers

But management is just about tactics, no? Career Mode SMH.
10. “We will never win a trophy under Ole. Move him on.”

He’s assembling a world class squad and now you don’t want him to fulfil his project? Fuck logic.

Klopp took 4 years to win silverware.
SAF took 5 years to win silverware.
Ole will win silverware this season (his 3rd).
