State spokesman Ned Price said 24 hours ago that the Biden administration had no intention of charging Americans fleeing Afghanistan.
But a form Americans are REQUIRED to fill out to secure an evac flight continues to state RIGHT NOW that evacuees will need to pay up:
Maddingly, after nearly a day of emails back and forth, the State Department provided me an "off the record" response saying they were "currently working to update this information across all our web and social media platforms."
Meaning I'm not "allowed" to post this info
However, I did not agree to the State Department's terms, and this is relevant info for American citizens in Afghanistan that deserve up-to-date information.
In the interest of full transparency, here are the non-responses State Department provided to my simple questions.
Note how they say they are not *presently* collecting promissory notes from Afghan evacuees.
They aren't answering my question: Have there been any evacuees that have PREVIOUSLY been billed by the U.S. gov for their evac flight out of Kabul, and if so will they be reimbursed?
The Biden administration ran to the press yesterday saying they had "no intention" of levying any evacuation charges, but haven't bothered yet to update Americans stuck in Kabul of the policy change.
And then they expect me to keep it a secret that they're just now fixing this.
btw here are State's "ground rules" for reporters.
"Off the record" info is provided "only for the education of the reporter."
Press officers can't just slap "off the record" on an email and expect reporters to comply with it blindly w/o prior agreement
It has been 15 hours since the Biden administration said it had no intention of charging Americans for evacuation flights out of Afghanistan.
Fleeing Americans are still being told they'll need to reimburse the government for their flight in a REQUIRED form.
"You must complete this form even if you’ve previously submitted your information to the U.S. Embassy in Kabul by another means. This form is the only way to communicate interest in flight options," the US Embassy in Afghanistan said Wednesday.
State Department spokesman Ned Price, 15 hours ago: “In these unique circumstances, we have no intention of seeking any reimbursement from those fleeing Afghanistan.”
NEW: The Biden administration continues to tell American citizens in a REQUIRED FORM they could have to pay more than $2,000 to flee Afghanistan, hours after the State Department told the press it had no intention of levying any such charges.
The Biden admin said nearly 4 hours ago it had no intention of seeking reimbursement from people fleeing Afghanistan.
This is what the form that Americans are REQUIRED to complete to secure their flight out of Afghanistan says RIGHT NOW:
State Department spokesman Ned Price, 4 hours ago: "In these unique circumstances, we have no intention of seeking any reimbursement from those fleeing Afghanistan."
Required US Gov. form, RIGHT NOW: "All passengers will need to reimburse the U.S. Government for the flight."
NEW: Hunter Biden's business partner told him to expect "significant" payments from the Chinese private equity firm BHR Partners in 2019 and beyond, emails show.
Talk of BHR payments to Hunter in these emails conflict with an October 2019 statement issued from his lawyer, George Mesires, that said Hunter had not received any distributions from BHR since he bought into the firm in 2017
The business partner, Eric Schwerin, told Hunter in December 2018 that he can expect BHR to generate income for him "over the next couple of years."
Chinese business records accessed today shows that Hunter still owns 10% of BHR through his company, Skaneateles LLC.
Hunter Biden emailed his D.C. office manager in Sept. 2017 asking her to make keys for his "office mates" Joe Biden, Jim Biden, Jill Biden, and his Chinese business partner Gongwen Dong, who Hunter called the "emissary" for CEFC's chairman.
Hunter's request came less than two months after CEFC, a Chinese energy conglomerate, wired $5 million to his company, Hudson West III.
Multiple news outlets have reported this week that a federal investigation into Hunter Biden's "tax affairs" is focused on his foreign business activities, including CEFC.
The local BLM chapters said in a statement today there's no financial transparency surrounding the "untold millions of dollars" BLM Global Network has reaped since its founding in 2013.
BLM Global Network announced in June that it was launching a $6.5 million fund to support its local chapters after receiving a windfall following George Floyd's death.
But local BLM chapters said today that only "selected chapters" have been invited to even apply for that fund.
I have no idea how the election is going to turn out. I'm 100% in a media/Twitter echo chamber of my own making and that's clouding my ability to read the electorate.
I see stuff like this that leads me to believe Biden has it in the bag
