/7 The home office has been a pandemic blessing for me. I am able to arrange my space and time to focus or recharge my attention as needed. This is a total power up for personal productivity and satisfaction.
/7 Hybrid + hot-desking would be a pandemic curse. The trend to open office has always been a deep productivity disappointment and prime example of frupidity. This is backed by empirical research.
/7 I hope the new normal doesn't include companies trumpeting hybrid office with hot-desking as an advantage like they did with open office. Let's find a way to support remote work for the future.
/7 I was listening to @anniemurphypaul talk about her new book, and it really gets into how we can empower ourselves by creating the right environments. I love looping and magpies as brain metaphors.
/7 But the real crux was that we aren’t computers that you can unplug and reboot to get back into a known state. We are deeply affected by our context, across every dimension.
/7 If I didn’t sleep well, or I just got exciting news, or an argument, or if I am dreaming of my favorite ice cream, they can all affect my work performance. Much less making chaos of my workspace.
/7 I just started doing one afternoon in the office here and there, just to meet the people in my new company face to face. It’s great! But I don’t ever want to go back to full time office and give up all my reclaimed focus. #productivity#homeoffice#pandemicimpact
