It's telling that when I post about how HCMC has helped all of the (relatively small number of) homeless people off the street, Western "leftists" only response is an accusatory "WHY WERE THERE HOMELESS PEOPLE"

Impossible standards: Even when we solve problems we get attacked.

They demand that we have an absolutely perfect society free of all problems, not just now, but *from the beginning*. Only idealist mindset can somehow twist getting every homeless person in one of the biggest cities on Earth shelter, food and healthcare in DAYS into a BAD THING.

Idealism: Rather than study and try to understand our historic development and current material conditions you fixate on metaphysical IDEAL, and once that standard is set, nobody can live up to it.

Look at the comparisons: When it comes to homelessness, we are compared to FINLAND -- seriously? We have zero historical or material similarities to Finland. This is an idealist, impossible standard. We have to beat every single nation by every single measure!

Of course it would be ideal if we never had homeless people. It would also be ideal if we didn't have 4 MILLION living Agent Orange victims to support, it would be ideal if the USA didn't bomb us into the stone age then place comprehensive sanctions on us into the 2000s.

I've ALWAYS admitted that Vietnam still has many problems. When have I ever said otherwise? But we are working hard and making great progress. From when I was a child things have improved a LOT -- and we are on track to eliminate extreme poverty by 2025.

In my life Vietnam has improved drastically - even just in the last 5 years our material conditions have improved a LOT - and even now, during the PANDEMIC, things are improving. In the long run, it will become increasingly apparent that we ARE moving towards our socialist goals.
