DOOCY TIME: "Is there any concern that maybe trying to reach this deadline and get everybody out, mistakes are being made, now that there is a report that at least one of the Afghan evacuated to Qatar has suspected ISIS ties?"
(1/)
Doocy: "You said yesterday it's irresponsible to say that Americans are stranded in Afghanistan right now. What do you say to the American citizens in Kabul that fox spoke to this morning" who says she's been "stranded."
Psaki responds with a banquet kitchen-sized word salad.
After Doocy finished, Doocy countered with 🔥🔥: "You say no Americans are stranded. This is someone in Kabul who says I'm stranded. So, is there a better word for somebody that can't leave the house to get to the airport b/c Jake Sullivan says ISIS outside the airport?"
Doocy closed w/perhaps THE question of the day: "If the Taliban said that staying past the 31st was going to provoke a reaction and then President Biden decides, 'okay, we won't stay.' Do they have the same kind of influence over military planning as a commander-in-chief?" (4/4)
This is how Joy Reid opened her show tonight -- more rhetoric that will get conservatives hurt: "A message to Republicans: Okay, we get it! Covid is the precious & you love it. You love Covid so much you want it to spread...You want it pumping through your veins."
Joy Reid is such a poisonous human being it's safe to say she doesn't care about the lives of conservatives and Republicans. Here she is saying tens of millions of Americans ALL "love Covid so dadgum" much and are "weirdos" who want "Covid running wild."
Words matter, Joy!
A few moments later, Joy Reid says tens of millions of any and all conservatives and Republicans...
- Have a "thirst for Covid"
- Want to "threaten" the "safety" of their own kids
- Like attending funderals
- Are part of a "Covid-loving death cult"
- Don't like being alive
#RIPNormMacDonald. Though I didn't grow up watching him on SNL, his bits will leave you in stiches and in awe that there's nothing like this out there in comedy. His takedowns of O.J. Simpson and the Clintons were hysterical and masterful.
"In his book, O.J. Simpson says that he would have taken a bullet or stood in front of a train for Nicole. Man, I'm going to tell you that is some bad luck when the one guy who would have died for you kills you." #RIPNormMacDonald
"Thanks, I'm Norm MacDonald. And now, the fake news. Well, it is finally official. Murder is legal in the state of California." #RIPNormMacDonald
Brutal back-and-forth for the White House between Jen Psaki and NBC's @PeterAlexander: "As we approach that deadline...did the U.S. accomplish its objective knowing that they will likely be thousands of SIV applicants and others still there and certainly some Americans, as well?"
NBC's @PeterAlexander: "There are going to be billions of dollars worth of U.S.-made munitions, arms, military, aircraft, armored vehicles have fallen into the hands of the Taliban...Are Americans less safe now b/c the Taliban now has access to...American-made weaponry?"
NBC's @PeterAlexander: "But at the end of the day...are Americans around the globe -- I mean, are western interests now more at risk b/c the Taliban has new access to all this weaponry?"
Psaki insists we'll "be watching" & "we have an enormous amount of leverage" over them
NBC's @KellyO: " After today's attack, do you believe you'll authorize additional forces to respond to that attack inside Afghanistan, and are you prepared to add additional forces to protect those Americans who remain on the ground carrying out the evacuation operation?"
Reuters's @TrevorNews Hunnicutt to Biden: "There’s been some criticism even from people in your party about the dependence on the Taliban to skewer the perimeter of the airport. Do you feel there was a mistake made in that regard?"
AP's Aamer Madhani: "You have spoken—again—powerfully about your own son and the weight of these decisions. With that in mind and...the longer we stay, the more likelihood that there would be a major attack, how do you weigh staying even one...day considering what has happened?"
This was Joy Reid, just last night: "Despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth on the right, the Biden administration has accomplished something that`s actually truly remarkable in Afghanistan."
MSNBC's Joy Reid last night, just hours before at least 12 U.S. soldiers died: "While that means more work needs to be done in the coming days, let me try to get ahead of the critics who will bang on with their Saigon comparisons....Welcome to war. That's what war looks like."
Joy Reid goes postal on Biden critics, @RepMeijer, and @SethMoulton: "Some of this has been such posturing, I have to say. Pure political posturing, the response to what's happening in Kabul...They are supposedly full of outrage that we're not getting people out."
On cue, MSNBC's Joy Reid again shows she's a WH favorite amidst their Afghanistan failures as she (again) led with Covid. Calling Ron DeSantis "Dr. Death" who's "wag[ing] his war" for the virus, she said he's not alone in "rolling out the red carpet for this ravenous virus."
Afghanistan wasn't even the b-block on Joy Reid's show. Instead, Tuesday's b-block was -- sighh -- January 6 because, as Joy made clear last week, it makes her really, really angry that the news media are expending so much energy and time on Afghanistan compared to January 6.
Joy Reid did get to Afghanistan...in her c-block. And once there, she came off like she was reading from a script sent to her by White House chief of staff Ron Klain, gushing that it "sure sounds like" they're "on-target" to get the right number of people out by August 31
