Traveling for a couple days, so I’m going to try to stay off this app— except in cases like right now when my train is delayed during which I reserve the right to waste time with the rest of you.
In related news, if any of you live in New York I’ll be up there later today. Eventually. Food and bar recs welcome.
Bought a copy of this regional publication at the train station so I can fit in when I get there.
My two-hours-behind-schedule train is now passing through the seat of federal power, Wilmington.

It’s been a crazy eight years of reporting since then, but few stories have personally compared to the experience of watching families and teachers plead for months fit their schools to be saved as the list got whittled down to the final 50.

Pelosi talking about her father and brother’s service as mayors of Baltimore as she gives introduction to Lucas and the other mayors here.
Pelosi talking about the meeting between congressional leaders and Biden. Says electric cars were an area where two parties disagreed. But she’s still optimistic about a bipartisan package.

KC Mayor @QuintonLucasKC is in DC this week. He will joining Pelosi and the mayors of LA & Richmond for an event pushing Biden's infrastructure package. Lucas, a potential #mosen candidate, has been a vocal supporter of the proposal kansascity.com/news/politics-…
Lucas will also meeting with members of both parties from both MO & KS while he's here, but I would not expect a Hawley meeting based on recent comments...

Bad Lieutenant (1992) & Uncut Gems (2019) - treat them as one cinematic universe of degenerate gamblers.
You can make it a triple feature if you want to add in The Gambler (1974).
But Bad Lieutenant and Uncut Gems pair particularly well together. One has Mad Dog. The other has Francesca. Same themes. Bad Lieutenant is the Catholic version. Uncut Gems is the Jewish version.
