TN CB CID comes under scathing remarks by the Madras High Court. In the court monitored NEET admission scam, the CB CID was conducting the probe. R.Gunhavarman, DSP, Organised Crime II was nominated as Principal I.O and he filed a status report. 1/n

While several private medical colleges have filled up the 50% govt quota in PG Medical Colleges, Gunahvarman, in his report has stated that none of the students have paid any excess fee & paid only the fee fixed by govt (!!!!). 2/n

This includes the notorious Muthukumaran College, which is functioning on a forged CMDA approval. The management is facing two criminal cases in CCB.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the report, the court made the following observations : 3/n

“An analysis was made by this Court, which showed that the private colleges have virtually given admissions to candidates for some of the important clinical courses, who otherwise do not 6/9 W.P.Nos.11963, 13466 & 13564 of 2020 deserve any admission 4/n

through regular counselling.

That is the reason why this Court ordered for an investigation by the CB-CID. But, in the report, in a single sentence, it is stated that there is no evidence for any conspiracy. 5/n

There is no whisper as to the materials and the basis, on which such a conclusion has been arrived by them.”

Sources say, Gunahvarman was handling the Shivasankar baba case investigation. For reasons that are not clear, Gunahvarman was transferred out of CB CID last week. 6/n

Not to a punishment posting. But to a post, where a DSP can ‘mint’ money. Chennai Corporation (Vigilance).

It appears he has made sizeable money in the Shivasankar baba case also. 7/7

Corruption and bribery are not new to DSP Gunahvarman. Earlier in 2020 an accused in the cricket betting scam alleged that Gunhavarman demanded and accepted bribe for not arresting him.
