NEW: @kare11 photographer @mattpassolt captured this heartwarming shot. It's 18-year-old Mykia Carpenter waving to friends/family outside HCMC. Mykia was shot in the neck while leaving her job in Uptown last week. The injuries - damaging her voice box and ability to speak.
Dozens of friends, local pastors from Shiloh Temple International Ministries and supporters held a prayer vigil today for the teen. Family members say Carpenter - a North High grad- was supposed to leave for nursing school in Chicago soon. @kare11 ImageImageImageImage
Side Chick restaurant announced they will remain closed until Monday to focus on supporting one of their own. The proceeds from Monday will go to Mykia. @kare11 ImageImage

NEW: These are photos of 18-year-old Lavonte Love given to me by his heartbroken family. Love was one of four people killed in separate homicides in St. Paul within a span of 36-hours. His family is holding a vigil for him tonight. @kare11
Police arrested a 37-year-old man - suspected in his death. St. Paul PD Chief Todd Axtell put up this post on FB saying, “it’s been an incredibly difficult few days for our neighbors, city and the men and women of SPPD.” @kare11

Words on the street say “Justice for Daunte Wright.’ His mother just spoke to us. She says he called to tell her he was being pulled over by police. Says the next time she saw him he was laying on the ground dead. @kare11
