Here's the letter from Lheidli T'enneh chief Dolleen Logan asking for O'Grady Rd. to have its name changed.

If you're on Facebook, a common complaint from people is "what will this cost"? Answer - not much to homeowners.

Here are the options on how to proceed

Coun. Skakun says he wants name change to happen. Reads a letter written by O'Grady when he was principal of Kamloops Indian Residential School telling parents that it is 'privilege' to have kids home at Christmas, and one that will be taken away if kids aren't returned on time

Coun. Ramsay says she's in full support, and wants the name change to be one approved by Lheidli T'enneh.

Coun. Sampson: "we've gotta change the name"

McConnachie: "when truth comes to light we can't ignore it"

Scott - in favour. Says that "hundreds and hundreds" of First Nations people visited O'Grady when he was dying but also we didn't know what we now back then

Everett: in favour

Decision to rename passes unanimously - mayor will meet with Lheidli T'enneh chief later this week to ask what steps they want to take next
