* The treaty text will contain a reference to Paris, but the reference to specific temperature commitments is disappearing.
* Government sources confirmed that the references to temperature are now “implicit” rather than spelt out in the text of the treaty.
EXC: Speaking to MPs earlier on a private call, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab gave many more details of the UK plan for post than emerged in public. Here's what he told them:
Key points:
* Raab said "we really could do with is the Taliban being able to run a functional airport in Kabul"
* Raab warns West could block "access to the international finance system", reduce aid and impose sanctions if they don't get what they want
* Mr Raab said the ideal way of dealing with a Taliban gvt in future would mirror that used in the Balkans. He said he wanted an "international contact group" which the Western powers could use to liaise with the new Taliban gvt based on the model from the former Yugoslavia
“The situation at the airport is not getting any better, public order issues, harrowing scenes … so what we’ve done is to get together and agree join approach to evacuation and a rod map which we’re going to engage with the Taliban”
The PM putting a brave face on failing to persuade President Biden to extend the Aug 31 deadline, says instead international community via the G7 will ask the new Taliban government for safe passage out of the country after August 31
Taliban already made clear they won’t
Boris Johnson says he’s “realistic” about the Taliban - but that doesn’t mean we should we shd ignore “huge” leverage we have

A person from Afghanistan on the UK’s no fly watchlist has been flown into Birmingham as part of the British evacuation operation in a potential security breach, Sky News can reveal.
The individual, not being identified by the government, is understood to have reached UK soil on a British military plane, with officials being alerted “overnight”.
The "no fly watchlist" is designed to block individuals who are considered a security threat from reaching UK
Opposition MPs worry this is a security breach although government sources say that the fact the individual has been identified shows the watchlist is working. They also stress that people can be flagged on the “no fly” list for a wide variety of reasons.
Opposition parties have begun discussions with Speaker Lindsay Hoyle’s office on whether Parliament should be recalled to discuss Afghanistan - although they say government not keen
SNP’s Ian Blackford has confirmed his party want a recall. Here’s Labour’s Keir Starmer also calling for a recall
Meanwhile Lib Dems say the PM should “call on all political parties”
