1/ This is a big one folks. After talking to @kieranwarwick recently, @verto0912 & I put down everything we’ve learnt about @illuviumio into 1 article.

$ILV makes up a large portion of $MVI so we wanted to do it justice 💪

Read on to discover what makes the project so special…

2/ For a game that hasn’t been released yet there’s certainly a lot of enthusiasm around Illuvium.

The ILV token has the deepest liquidity of any project we’ve seen to date ($208m!), and the community is absolutely blowing up in Discord, with nearly 90k members.

3/ By combining the best parts of crypto, using a DAO-first org model and designing the game to enable #PlayToEarn, Illuvium sits at the intersection of two massive trends.

This could lead to huge levels of adoption as the game appeals to crypto and non-crypto natives alike.

4/ To avoid scaling issues, the team selected 2 solutions targeting a player count >100m

1. Serverless architecture for globally interactive play and suited the auto-battler style of gameplay
2. Building on @Immutable so transactions don’t become the limiting factor

5/ The game itself is often compared to @Pokemon. Here are some terms to get you up to speed:

Pokemon - Illuvial
PokeBall - Shard
Evolution - Fusing
PokeDEX - Illuviary
Type - Affinity and Class
Trainer Gym - Battle Arena

Fiercer than any pokemon I’ve seen...

6/ Of course it’s far more exciting than Pokemon because in Illuvium there’s real money to be made. Players can:

- Collect and sell Illuvials
- Battle and wager in the Arena
- Trade items
- Farm resources on their land

Wait what, there’s land based play?!

7/ Yes, thanks to the recently passed IIP-10 there will also be a land based mini-game, launching on mobile.

We’ve seen the growth enabled by mobile play @axieinfinity, but it creates risk as Illuvium: Zero was not part of the original dev timeline.

8/ It's not all about land though. We're extremely keen to see other player types emerge and interact. We can already see there will be:

Collectors 🎒
Traders 🔁
Combatants ⚔️
Landowners 🧑‍🌾

And others we haven’t thought of. Which one will you be?

9/ The amount of brainpower in the Warwick family also lends itself to token and organisation design.

As a result, $ILV has some interesting characteristics. For example, did you know that 100% of the revenue generated by Illuvium will be returned to players and stakers?

10/ The DAO itself uses an elected council called the Illuvinati to make decisions & keep moving quickly in the right direction.

The position is not taken lightly and imbues a lot of trust, seeing council seats get filled by crypto superstars like @kaiynne and @santiagoroel.

11/ We feel ILV represents one of the most exciting projects in MVI, but the level of expectation comes with risk. Speedrunning AAA game development isn't easy!
