saw a link about a "temporary stay" in the Texas abortion case: that case was in state court and decided earlier

The Supreme Court did just indeed let the Texas law go into effect, gutting Roe v Wade and encouraging other states to pass similar laws texastribune.org/2021/08/31/tex… In the meantime, Travis County District Judge Amy Clark Meac

For people asking: how the hell? what the fuck? Yes, a 6-week ban is flatly unconstitutional under Roe and PP v Casey, but this Texas law was designed to evade lawsuits by having private citizens, not the state, enforce it. See: nytimes.com/2021/07/09/us/…

The Trumpified court system that didn’t block the Texas abortion law caused this heroic but horrifying effort. People helping patients until 11:59pm CT with protestors outside watching them ready to pounce.
Whole Woman’s Health is an independent clinic group with locations in Texas, Indiana, Virginia.
They’re fighting SB8, led the legal fight resulting in SCOTUS striking down a Texas law in 2016, and they’re the lead plaintiff challenging a Texas ban on abortion method (d&e). 👇👇👇

Has literally any national news outlet sent a push alert about the fact that a 6-week abortion ban from Texas is now in the hands of the Supreme Court, specifically Sam Alito?
The Fifth Circuit could block the law tomorrow but like, does anyone outside of Texas, repro twitter, and legal twitter have the faintest idea that this is happening.....seems like they might want to know!
You know how SCOTUS overturned the eviction moratorium at 10pm with no hearing and no reasoning aka on the shadow docket?
"There's nothing stopping them [from overturning Roe v Wade on the shadow docket] but potentially public opinion and blow back"
