Breaking: Texas legislature passes sweeping voter suppression bill #SB1

Eliminates drive-thru voting & extended hours, bans mail ballot drop boxes, makes it crime for election officials to distribute vote by mail applications, allows “free movement”for partisan poll watchers

Today in Texas you can carry a gun without a permit but you can’t register to vote online or get an abortion after 6 weeks
Texas Republicans so invested in voter suppression b/c they want to enact cruel unpopular policies with no accountability

-can vote with gun permit but not student ID

-no online voter registration

-must be deputized to register voters

-voters under 65 can’t use fear of covid to vote by mail

-750 polling places closed since SCOTUS gutted VRA
