Pros:
- Target fixture swings β
- Catch price rises and build team value β
- Get Ronaldo without taking hits β
- Opportunity to jump on value players β
- Get rid of failed punts/bad picks β
Cons:
- Canβt target GW 7/8 fixture swings as effectively β
- 3 GWs is a small sample size, so we might make bad decisions if we only base them on information from GW 1-3 β
Fixture Runs to Target π
βͺοΈ Leeds (GW 5-10)
Leeds are heading towards a very appealing fixture run starting in GW 5. If you can bench your Leeds players in GW 4 vs Liverpool, I would definitely include them in a wildcard.
π΅ Everton (GW 4-6)
This fixture run is a bit short term but Burnley, Villa and Norwich in the next three GWs gives Everton assets great potential both offensively and defensively. DCL, Gray and Digne are my favourite picks.
π΄ Arsenal (GW 4-11)
Okay, it is Arsenal and they really donβt impress right now. However, their fixtures look very good from GW 4-11, so you can find good value in the London team. White (4.4) the standout option.
π Wolves (GW 4-14)
Wolves have lost their first 3 games this season, but they have still impressed and put up some promising stats. They can now look forward to a fixture run of almost only easy fixtures from GW 4-14. Semedo and Traore are my favourite FPL picks.
π΅ Chelsea (GW 4, GW 7-11)
A nice GW 4 fixture is followed by 2 more difficult ones, but in GW 7 the fixtures look incredible and so it might be worth including a couple of Chelsea assets in your team for the long term benefit.
Fixture Run to Avoid:
π£ Aston Villa (GW 4-7)
After having great fixtures GW 1-3, Villa now face a way harder fixture run. Chelsea, Everton, Man Utd and Spurs next makes all Villa assets clear sells in FPL.
Wildcard Foundations βοΈ
π΄ Salah - 12.5
π΄ Trent - 7.5
πΉ Ronaldo - 12.5
πΉ Shaw - 5.5
βοΈ Antonio - 7.9
Spurs have started the season very well and have kept 3 clean sheets in a row. Reguilon has also grabbed 4 bonus points so far. I expect another CS vs Palace in GW 4, and Spurs have okay fixtures until GW 9.
π Adama Traore - 6.0
TSB: 1.8%
In the first 3 GWs, Adama Traore had 2 big chances, created one big chance, had 7 goal attempts in the box, created 9 chances and had an xGI of 2.11. Despite this he blanked in all 3 games, but the stats indicate that returns will come.
π΄ Diogo Jota - 7.6
TSB: 15.5%
If Firmino is confirmed out, Iβd say Jota should be in every WC team. Firmino out would mean that Jota is nailed to start and when he starts, he often delivers. He had an xGI/90 of 0.59 last season, which is very good for a player that costs 7.6m.
π Ferran Torres - 7.1
TSB: 7.4%
With KDB being injured and Jesus seen as a winger, Ferran Torres seems to have nailed down that striker spot, at least short term. 2 goals, 1 assist and 18 FPL points in GW 3. At only 7.1m, Torres looks like incredibely good value for money.
π Nelson Semedo - 4.9
TSB: 1.5%
Despite playing Leicester, Spurs and Man Utd in the first 3 GWs, Wolves only conceded 3 big chances during this period. This indicates future clean sheets, especially now when the fixtures turn. At only 4.9m, Semedo could prove to be a great pick
With Ronaldo likely taking over Penalty and Freekick duty, I simply donβt think Bruno is worth Β£12.1m anymore. Downgrade and use the funds to afford Ronaldo, Lukaku or maybe both.
π£ Danny Ings - 8.0
Villa fixtures take a turn to the bad now, which lessens the appeal of Danny Ings. Also worth noting that his 3 goal involvements this season have come from an xGI of 1.06 which means that he has significantly overperformed. Avoid!
βͺοΈ Heung Min Son - 10.1
Tottenham havenβt impressed much attacking wise so far this season, hence I wouldnβt invest over Β£10m in a Spurs player. Go with a budget mid and use the funds to allow a premium striker instead.
Wildcard Draft π

GW 1 Fixtures to target π―
βͺοΈ TOT vs: BUR (H)
Spurs start the season vs Burnley (H), which is a clear fixture to target both offensively and defensively. I like both Kudus, Porro (and Solanke, if fit) for this game. GW 2 is tougher for Spurs though, as they face Man City (A).
π΅ CHE vs: CRY (H)
Palace (H) isnβt the perfect fixture, but I still expect Chelsea to win and when you factor in GW 2-4 (whu, FUL, bre) then targeting these fixtures makes sense. Palmer, JoΓ£o Pedro, Cucurella and Sanchez stand out as the most obvious picks.
This yearβs FPL winner, Lovro BudiΕ‘in, has obviously had an amazing season. If we take a closer look at it, how has he played to get where he finished?

GW 29 Notes - Teams βοΈ
π΄ Arsenal - 1-0 win vs Chelsea with only 0.36 xGC. Their 4th clean sheet in the last 7 GWs.
π¦ Leicester - 3-0 loss vs Man Utd, their 13th loss in their last 14 PL games. 6 straight game without scoring a goal, either. Not playing great at the moment.
GW 29 Notes - Players βοΈ
π΄ Fernandes - 1 goal, 2 assists and 17 FPL pts vs Leicester. 46 points in the last 4 GWs for Bruno now.
π Marmoush - Scored, assisted and played 85 minutes vs Brighton. Could be a decent pick at 7.3m. Leicester (H) coming up next π

GW 26 Notes - Teams βοΈ
π¦ Leicester - The 4-0 loss vs Brentford was Leicesterβs 10th defeat in their last 11 PL games. Have now lost 6 straight home games, with 0 goals scored.
π΄ Southampton - Also lost 4-0 this weekend. Only 9 points in 26 games, with -42 goal differenceβ¦
GW 26 Notes - Players βοΈ
π΄ Fernandes - 10 points for Bruno in GW 26. Could be a nice differential for IPS (H) in GW 27 and LEI (A) in GW 29.
β«οΈβͺοΈ Hall - 2 assists vs Forest, could have been 3. Will be a lock in all future wildcard teams.
