This latest disgusting attack on Muslims barely making a living by the sanghis is yet another example of them explicitly following the 1930s Nazi playbook. The Nazis went after Jewish businesses exactly like this.

If US RW said this about motels in the US, they'd lose it.
It's like sanghis WANT to provoke Indian Muslims to such an extent that there is a widespread armed resistance from them, and then sanghis could use that perpetual civil war as an excuse to rule forever. Like seriously, every week, a new attack on Indian Muslims!
The idea that Muslims in India have any kind of special status or perk or advantage or monopoly or that they have been "appeased" is so ridiculously and extremely the opposite of reality, that only a fascist sanghi bigot could take it seriously. Ignoring facts for hate.
There are more Muslims in the Indian subcontinent than there are people in USA and Russia combined. There is no possible "Akhand Hindu Bharat" endgame even theoretically other than mass genocide that would make Hitler look like a rookie. So don't feed the bigotry please.
Shakespeare said it best
"If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that."
Imagine if a venture capitalist in the US tweeted this

"Have you noted the monopoly of a certain community in the motel market?

We are ideating on a business model to tackle this with some political leaders."

Sanghis would have the MEA question the state department.
And what business monopoly are they going after? Petroleum? Diamonds? Steel? No! Selling vegetables! Like Muslims selling vegetables in India are feasting on caviar every night! They barely make a living, if that! And this "venture capitalist" wants to tackle them, of all!
Anti-Muslim bigotry has always existed in India but this current government is institutionalizing it.
A common thread in the worldwide experiment in democratic republics has been that the state tries to act as a protector of minorities against the natural majoritarian impulses. The Modi govt is the first major post-WWII democratic republic to actively target a minority group.
It's kinda Democracy 101 that minorities are indeed "special" in any democratic republic and deserve "special" protections because otherwise, the majority would just run roughshod over everyone. And that's not democracy or republicanism (small r). That's straight up fascism.
The Modi govt and the state govts allied with it are actively writing laws to hack away at minority rights in the country. And spreading a narrative that actively encourages economic retribution against minorities. Like Nazi Germany or the American Jim crow years.

I really don't understand how people who live on coasts can still be climate change denialists in 2021.
A decade ago, tornado warnings in Manhattan would have sounded like what Hollywood would write in a script where all bad things happen in Manhattan. Now we barely bat an eyelid at one. #ClimateCrisis
Yesterday, everyone in NYC got tornado warnings on their phones. But there were no tornado sirens like elsewhere. You know why? Cos we haven't gotten tornados ever! We don't have sirens for them! Preparing for a tornado in NYC used to be like preparing for a volcano! Unlikely!

A student from a refugee family told me how much she hated Halloween growing up. Her parents, barely putting food on the table, balked at the extra expense of buying candy to hand it out. They'd been assured by other adults, it's okay to opt out...

(Sharing with her permission)
But kids don't understand these practicalities. She was often taunted for how "stingy" her parents are. As a kid born here, she had a tough time reconciling home life and school life because of many such purely financial constraints. Trick or treat is a very bourgeois thing, huh.
The first time she moved out of university acco to an apartment, she used some leftover internship pay to buy a ridiculous amount of candy. Like $400 worth. Not to "enjoy" Halloween but more like a "here's your fucking free candy! Here, take it. Take it all."

In other news, ya boy just got RTPCR tested for a Canada visit and came back negative, so at least this Moderna vaccinated dude seems to have resisted the delta variant. Cos I take the subway and path almost everyday. No way I haven't been exposed.
In terms of hospitalizations and deaths, NYC has been relatively okay through the delta variant. In fact after that first huge wave at the start, NYC has staved off any further waves. Despite being semi open for a year now. Cos universal masking, SDing, high vaccination rate.
My Pune school and childhood friends group is divided almost equally between US and India. In the US, literally not a single positive case. In India, almost all got covid. 😳

You can now add tornado warnings to the list of things I've lived through in Manhattan! Thank you, fossil fuels!
Seriously, just writing down my experiences of major news events I've lived through in Manhattan in the last decade plus would make for a great book. There has been in so. Much. Happening. Here.
Thank you, folks, for asking about us. We were safe at home. Just closed blinds as told and rode it out watching streaming shows. The rain has let up, so the worst seems to be behind us. But no idea about the extent of flooding citywide. Our power and internet stayed on.

200 times a second 😳😳😳
And this is a biological creature, not some tech marvel.
It can beat its wings once every 0.005 seconds! Even the fastest humans competing for speed can only be separated by 0.01 seconds!

Once you're hooked on the science of the hummingbird, you'll never get out. They are just insane creatures. A lot of what they do, we've only learnt in recent years cos it took us this long to develop high speed cameras that could actually capture what these birds do!
I hope I soon get to return to the jungles of Minca, Colombia, where hummingbirds abound like pigeons! Everywhere you look, a spectacularly colorful hummingbird. Ah Colombia! My last foreign trip before the pandemic.

Won't make a difference. Sinhagad in Pune is a fort made historic by Shivaji, Tanaji, both of whom most definitely ate meat. I grew up eating chicken when on visits there. The brahminical BJP banned all meat from Sinhagad when it came to power.
Bhakts think that the verifiable facts that Savarkar ate meat, promoted beef eating in India, Vajpayee ate beef, had favorite steakhouses in NYC during his UN stints, is all some devious CIA Soros Taliban lie. Facts don't matter to them. Only fascism does.
You really have to grow up in the Pune area to realize what a pointed insult it was to the region's bahujan communities (who made up most of Shivaji's mard maavLa's) to ban meat from Sinhagad of all places. Bommins reminding Marathas who is boss now type of a dick move.
