STOP overreacting to life and feeling like a pinball all day.

10 smart strategies that will help you be PROACTIVE and win BIG

///thread///
Ask yourself:

Do you feel like you are constantly overreacting to life?
Do you feel frustrated with how your days go?

Asking those questions can be uncomfortable, but knowing you should be running your days better is where you need to start...
When you accept your current situation, improving is much easier.

And there is usually only a small number of things holding you back.

This is HUGE positive as you only need to change a few things to start winning.

To frame these 10 points, I wanted to share these quotes...
"The way to bring about change is to be proactive and active."
- Octavia Spencer

"The proactive approach to a mistake is to acknowledge it instantly, correct and learn from it."
- Stephen Covey

Let's look at smart 10 ways to be proactive...
1) Develop rituals and systems

All successful people have systems and rituals; this helps to provide a structure to your days.

Making you focus on things you're working on, you need to create a ritual around it if it's important to you.

Figure out where you need rituals.
2) Devote time to meditation

For many successful people, meditation is a key part of the day

You can do this at any time or multiple times a day for 5 mins to 30mins

Just sit down and observe what's happening around you and breathe

It helps clear the mind and focus thoughts
3) Do less

This isn't about being lazy; it's about being selective with what you choose to do.

Do the right productive things at the right time that help your success journey.

Too many people think that to succeed, you must do everything for 12hrs+ a day; they are wrong.
If you're a busy professional or entrepreneur looking to get clear on your opportunities and become more proactive to get more results

Without working 12 hours a day or 7 days a week, I have systems that will help you.

4) Do one thing at a time

This is a simple focus rule; when you're doing something, focus completely on it.

As the Zen proverb says: "When walking, walk. When eating, eat."

Too many try to eat, work, and walk simultaneously; this is a fool's trap.

One until done.
5) Do things slowly and deliberately

Don't rush; keep things simple and take your time.

Make your actions deliberate, not rushed or random.

This does mean taking 10 hrs to 1 hr of work; it means taking 1 hr to do 1hr work, not 15 minutes.

Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
6) Finish what you start

Too many times, you get close to finishing then something shiny comes along

This creates a problem for you down the line, and it wires your brain to focus on the latest and exciting

The unsuccessful jump from thing to thing

The successful get it done.
7) Create space between things

Don't schedule things so close together; give yourself time to unwind.

Not only in your day but after milestones on your journey.

Reflect on what you're doing and why; if you don't, you could burn yourself out.

Even if it is just 5 minutes.
8)Designate time for certain things

This is extremely important on 2 fronts

1)Creating specific times for tasks mean they get done regularly
2)Your brain works differently at certain times of the day

Some have creative zones in the morning, others at night

Find your zones
9) Serve others

Many successful people spend part of their day in service to others, and so should you

There is no such thing as a self-made person; we all had help from others

Helping others will help you to be successful

A win-win situation that feels great for everyone.
10) Make Gratitude part of your day

There are great ways to practice mindfulness and humility but none better than being thankful for your life.

Start and end each day with a gratitude practice; the successful in life understand the power of gratitude.

This just works.
If you want to be proactive in life and successful

You will not go wrong by following these 10 steps.

It will change your days, weeks, and months and your life.

Understanding common truths about success will help you unlock mental barriers and get you performing at higher levels.

7 areas in life everyone struggles with…

///thread///
Ask yourself...

Do you feel like others have it easy?
Do you feel like everyone around you is crushing it?

What if I told you everyone struggles, and we only tend to see the wins?

Would you believe me?

You should.

Here are the 7 areas we all struggle with…
1) No one has it figured out.

Everyone is struggling with something; most of us are making it up as we go along, seeing what sticks and repeating what works.

This idea that ‘some’ just cruise through life is a fairytale, a fantasy sold to us to make us feel inadequate.

Are you chasing success for the wrong reasons?

How to avoid the dark side of success and win for the right reasons.

///thread\\\
Ask yourself:

Do you feel like you are constantly chasing the dopamine hit of a win?
Do you feel like you do things because of other's expectations?
Do you do things just to beat people?

If you answered yes to any of those, you could be in the Success Trap

Let’s take a look...
Behind every victory is the desire for the next one, and that can be a good thing if you have good goals linked to a purpose.

But maybe for you, every success just makes you want more.

In reality, there is no peak to success; the climb towards the next one can become addictive.

You love to make things complicated, and it's not your fault.

But you need to stop; let's find out how.

///thread///
We are the cause of most of our complicated issues in life.

When faced with two competing options, we are more likely to choose the more complex option even if there is a simple choice available.

Welcome to complexity bias...
To beat it, you 1st need to understand why you do it

Complexity bias is our tendency to look at something easy to understand and then see it as having many difficult parts, or, we may view it as more complex while in a confused or stressed state

Let's look at three examples...

How to improve your performance by thinking about death.

You will be surprised by how effective it is.

///thread///
How do you use death to make you perform better?

Well, by thinking about Memento Mori.

Essentially, you do more because you know you will die.

But, wait, what is Memento Mori.

Well, it is a large part of Stoic philosophy…
Memento Mori is the practice of contemplating your mortality and remembering that death comes to all

In English, it translates to "remember you must die"

Sounds kind of morbid and not fun?

I know, but you need this concept in your life; it pushes you to take the right actions.

The 5 major consequences of drifting in life, avoid these at all costs.

///thread///
Drifting sounds cool to some, "go with the flow, man."

However, drifting can have serious consequences, not only for you but also for those close around you.

In most long-term situations in life, drifting is flat-out dangerous.

Avoid these 5 costly consequences...
1) Confusion.

While drifting in life, you lose perspective.

Without a clear destination in view, challenges seem impossible or pointless to face.

You will struggle to find meaning and purpose, leaving you confused and lost.

You need plans, systems, and structure to succeed.
