Nigerian Air Force fighter jets have carried out a baptism of fire against bandits camps spread across Zamfara state, destroying several camps, including that of the notorious bandits Dan Karami in Shakafi LGA of the state.
The airstrikes were actually delayed to allow time for Nigerian troops to snake around the camps, cutting off escape routes. As the air strikes began, surviving fighters who tried to escape ran straight into troops waiting in ambush.
It should be remembered that mobile and internet services had been shut down in Zamfara and environs as the security forces move against armed bandits carrying out killings and kidnappings for ransom.
The killing of the bandit leader Dankarami in the airstrikes represents a milestone in Nigeria's employment of air power that is quickly becoming the decisive force in the war against insurgency.

Unable to bear the blows netted to bandits the radical Islanic ckeric Sheikh Gumi is back. This time he declares
"Military force not an option. BANDITS are going no where"
When we talk about the Top 5 problem plagueing Nigeria, Gumi makes the list. He posted on his Facebook page today
"Zamfara: The Flaring Of Crisis’, military action against criminal herdsmen and bandits will not solve the security challenge, but will only worsen the situation”
This, ladies and gentlemen is Sheikh Gumi's reaction to recent military success over bandits in Zamfara forest. To take this from me. Let's QUOTE hkm verbatim.

Things you need to know about some of the forests straddling many states that is used by armed bandits as cover. As many as nine forests linking almost the entire northern part of Nigeria and some neighbouring countries that bandits called home.
Civilians generally avoid these forests because of their remotenes, the ideal hideout for bandits. It is also a double edges sword. Sure the thick jungle canopy and size offered them excellent cover, so long they stayed hidden.
But if spotted, the absence of civilian population accords the NAF and field artillery units the opportunity to carpet bomb those camps indiscriminately without the limiting fear of collateral damage.

and two stealth Corvettes NNS Centenary and NNS Unity inducted in February 2015 and December 2016 respectively.
It is no hyperbole to say France will use every trick in the book to remain engaged in West Africa. Few weeks after pulling President Buhari by the side and offering Nigeria military assistance in the battle against insurgency during a COVID-19 Summit hosted by Macron in Paris
France offered Nigerian Navy support to secure the Gulf of Guniea. Soon after France Defence Attaché Nicolas Rambaud, visited the Nigerian Navy Hydrographic School.

The Nigerian Government has condemned what it describes as an apparent coup d’état in the Republic of Guinea.
The Government of Nigeria strongly condemns and rejects any unconstitutional change of government and therefore calls on those behind this coup to restore constitutional order without delay and protect all lives and property,” it said.
The statement was issued following reports that special forces in Guinea have taken over power in what appears to be a new twist in the political unrest in the West African country.
