Unable to bear the blows netted to bandits the radical Islanic ckeric Sheikh Gumi is back. This time he declares
"Military force not an option. BANDITS are going no where"
When we talk about the Top 5 problem plagueing Nigeria, Gumi makes the list. He posted on his Facebook page today
"Zamfara: The Flaring Of Crisis’, military action against criminal herdsmen and bandits will not solve the security challenge, but will only worsen the situation”
This, ladies and gentlemen is Sheikh Gumi's reaction to recent military success over bandits in Zamfara forest. To take this from me. Let's QUOTE hkm verbatim.
QUOTE
“ … Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief on
earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief.”
“Zamfara state is unique in many aspects. In early 2000 AD the state ignited a wildfire of states constitutional amendments that accommodated the application of sharia law beyond personal law (i.e. marriages, divorce,
and inheritance) to include the Islamic criminal law. It was well received by the local populace with eleven other northern states adopting it. However, it goes without saying, that the international community ruled by leaders that are promoting sodomy and lesbianism in the
garment of secularism were at the forefront of fighting it. In a short time, it became political and fizzled away.”
“If such shariah implementation move had concentrated in literacy and economic empowerment the kind of which we see in Saudi Arabia, with its rich resources,
Zamfara would have become a shining example of the blend of a religiously modern state proud of its development and modesty. Unfortunately, it turned out to became the den of criminality and instability in the region.”
“By 2015, banditry has replaced cattle raring that is
becoming nearly impossible. Drugs were introduced into the herdsmen that are known to be illiterates or semi-illiterates. The reaction of the town local vigilantes (a natural reaction to any communal aggression in self-defence) pitched the herdsman against the local rural
helmets, villages, and adjacent towns to the forests as they are lynched and maimed when whenever they enter markets.
“With their acquisition of weapons, they realized how easy it became to be masters of their abode the forest, where no authority can venture into.
This has emboldened them to further attack people for more ransoms to sustain their newfound reality.”
“The danger we face now is ideological demagogues changing the narrative. They are trying hard to infiltrate the herdsmen. And we know their objectives. They want to destroy
all modern governments by fighting the military and now in the recent cajoling of local populations, they have tormented before to join them in the struggle.”
“Let us face the reality, these herdsmen are going nowhere, and they are already in battle gear, and we know our
Military very well, so before things get messy, we need cold brains to handle this delicate situation.
“Military actions in the past have worsen the situation stimulating herdsmen resistance. Any more action will push them closer to religious fanaticism. It gives them
protection from discrediting them as thieves and also reinforce their mobilization of gullible young unemployed youth as we saw with BH.”
“I have met many of the bandit leaders to see a way out of this gridlock. I have talked to the political class and security agents.
Except for an exception, most state governors want a peaceful resolution of the conflict. The Police and other security outfits have also realized the enormity of the problem.
“Just as we had the Niger delta conflict resolved with an amnesty which comes with reconciliation,
reparation, and rehabilitation packages, so will the herdsmen crisis be resolved. In fact, there is a need for a Marshal plan to educate the nomadic pastoralist so that no citizen is left behind.”
“These measures I enumerated are cheaper, easier, and lasting than the kinetic
approach which is now taking place. No military especially of a poor economy can win guerrilla warfare. The recent victory of the Taliban in Afghanistan is a factual warning for those that contemplate.”
END QUOTE.
You see, when someone isn’t smart enough to express their frustration, they use inflammatory remarks like this. These are words that describe someone who is embittered he didnt get the Amnesty
..he so laboriously campaigned for. Selling out his dignity as a descent human being by lobbying for murderers under the guise of religion. This is the man that admonished Nigerians from refering to bandits as criminals. They are victims of circumstances he said.
The is the man that claimed the President was being unfair in refusing bandits Amnesty when such gesture was accorded to Niger Delta militants. This is the man that boasted there are about 100,000 armed bandits, there is no way soldiers can protect every student.
..dialogue is the key. This is the man that hoped to stoke religious tensions among trools by refering to Christian soldiers in the Nigerian army criminals while extoling the virtues of muslim soldiers. For someone who claim to be a peacemaker not once has Gumi emphatized with
..the parents of the students who fell victim of Banditry.
No nation in the world that can move forward with people like Sheikh Gumi is given a platform to air his bizzare amd dusturbing grievances. He should be behind bars, not treated with kids gloves.
There is absolutely no way you can blame Nigerians for crying double standard when people like this openly advocate for groups outlawed by the Nigerian government and yet is not made to face the consequences. Nigeria is a circular state not an Islamic republic.
Of all the repugnant statements made by the Islamic cleric, this is by far the worst. How is this even legal?
Bandits ramped up their attacks for ransome when Gumi began campaigning for Amnesty. They hoped to force or "shock" the President into the negotiating table by acts of babarity. They thought they had it under the bag. Gumi will do the talking, he bandits will ramp up pressure.
So why are inflammatory remarks by the Islamic cleric tolerated? What is this, some kind of "do not give up" vitamin shot to the arm for demoralized insurgents? How can anyone individual openly ridicule the military's exploits, advocate for terrorists and walks free?

In the wake of an aggressive and comprehensive aerial bombardment carried out by NAF fixed wing strike aircafts on bandit camps in Zamfara state, with hundreds of fighters captured taken priosners.
NAF helicopter gunships bombarded several logistics base set up by bandits at Kwara forest in Kaduna State, neutralizing no fewer than 50 armed bandits.
A pair of helicopter gunships carrying out armed reconnaisance intercepted a large gathering of bandits all dressed in black with rustled cattles around Kawara village in Giwa.
On sighting the helicopters, the bandits ran and, for some bizzare reason hide in between the cattles
Things you need to know about some of the forests straddling many states that is used by armed bandits as cover. As many as nine forests linking almost the entire northern part of Nigeria and some neighbouring countries that bandits called home.
Civilians generally avoid these forests because of their remotenes, the ideal hideout for bandits. It is also a double edges sword. Sure the thick jungle canopy and size offered them excellent cover, so long they stayed hidden.
But if spotted, the absence of civilian population accords the NAF and field artillery units the opportunity to carpet bomb those camps indiscriminately without the limiting fear of collateral damage.
Nigerian Air Force fighter jets have carried out a baptism of fire against bandits camps spread across Zamfara state, destroying several camps, including that of the notorious bandits Dan Karami in Shakafi LGA of the state.
The airstrikes were actually delayed to allow time for Nigerian troops to snake around the camps, cutting off escape routes. As the air strikes began, surviving fighters who tried to escape ran straight into troops waiting in ambush.
It should be remembered that mobile and internet services had been shut down in Zamfara and environs as the security forces move against armed bandits carrying out killings and kidnappings for ransom.
Surface combatants form the core of the Nigerian Navy. The biggest surface ship in the Nigerian Navy tend to be generally heavier than are armed.
The Nigerian Navy arranges vast fleet of its patrol crafts around its biggest warships to maximize and benefit from the synergy of
complimentary platforms operating in unison. The Navy has in recent times placed a growing emphasis on blue water capabilities and power projection. The only warships with blue water capability in the Navy today are two Frigates: NNS Thunder and NNS Okpabana
and two stealth Corvettes NNS Centenary and NNS Unity inducted in February 2015 and December 2016 respectively.
It is no hyperbole to say France will use every trick in the book to remain engaged in West Africa. Few weeks after pulling President Buhari by the side and offering Nigeria military assistance in the battle against insurgency during a COVID-19 Summit hosted by Macron in Paris
France offered Nigerian Navy support to secure the Gulf of Guniea. Soon after France Defence Attaché Nicolas Rambaud, visited the Nigerian Navy Hydrographic School.
"France has a very big interest in good bilateral cooperation between our two great nations." He said

France will not tolerate threats to Chad. To quote Macron verbatim
QUOTE
France will not let anybody put into question or threaten today or tomorrow Chad's stability and integrity.
The Nigerian Government has condemned what it describes as an apparent coup d’état in the Republic of Guinea.
The Government of Nigeria strongly condemns and rejects any unconstitutional change of government and therefore calls on those behind this coup to restore constitutional order without delay and protect all lives and property,” it said.
The statement was issued following reports that special forces in Guinea have taken over power in what appears to be a new twist in the political unrest in the West African country.
