DOACs - a relatively new and expensive class of drug developed to prevent blood clots. As exposed by @ukcolumn , the UK gov is ordering a 3 yr supply to cover future anticipated needs at a cost of 3 billion. That is 10% of cost of ALL prescription meds!!!

When one reads a figure of 3 billion being spent on one type of drug this immediately rings some alarm bells. As a reality check we made the attached rough calculation and it would be good if someone can verify this.
