A little backstory on #covidnow: Hope to shed some light on how it started and the ideas behind it. Read on.
The devs behind are a team of 4 - all of us had built something with the MOH open data. We got together and worked with MOH over almost a month on building a transparent, easy to understand dashboard to better inform the public, orgs and policymakers on the state of the pandemic
The idea behind #opendata is simple: an all-of-society approach to work towards a similar goal. That for Malaysia, is to win the battle against COVID-19. I'm thankful to MOH, @kharykj and his team for the opportunity and openness in collaborating with the open data community
Data storytelling is key to driving decisions at the individual and organisational level. Sincerely hope this project paves way for more collaboration between the public and private sector for the greater good in the spirit of transparency and data openness.
All data presented on the dashboard are also in the public domain and available on GitHub - no exceptions. We never had access to private data - even though we would like to :)
Shoutout to the seriously talented @henrylim96@lumsterdumpster and @roshennn of the #covidnow team. We are working on more features to be added to the dashboard over time. Feedback are welcomed!
